To just give up? (Self pity thread)

I hate my job. It’s entry level and I earn peanuts. I’ve tried applying for new jobs and don’t even get an interview.

Hate where I live. Tried to sell and had over 30 viewings and zero offers.

Husband said he’d buy me a new car. My one right now is literally unsafe to drive that I’ve taken to walking the hour journey to work.

We went car shopping and I found a car in budget and then he turned around and said no. No reason for it,

I just feel stuck in a job I hate, living in a flat I hate and my freedom to slipping away.

Why did your husband say no? Why does he have final say?
Of all the things you listed that one really stands out as horrible and controlling

Because he earns the money and I could never afford the car.

He vaguely said that because it was diesel they would be taken off the roads soon 🤷‍♀️

I just feel like im trying to better myself rather than feeling miserable and doing nothing but there’s just barrier after barrier.

Not getting a diesel potentially isn't that stupid, but of course he should be actively helping you to get a car if you need one rather than just saying no.

He offered tonight to pay to repair mine. But it just constantly has faults with it, that I just think it’s a waste of money to keep getting it fixed.

I genuinely don’t feel safe driving it anymore. And fixing the warning light for the 100th time doesn’t make me feel any better.

Did he say when you could go car shopping again? You need to go back next weekend until you find one that you can get

Not sure what to say on the other fronts other than keep going with the job and the house, you will get there in the end
