Buy 3 ex council houses in a city LA that has one of the biggest homelessness issues in the country, and turn them into one big house? Complete with huge garden, massive kitchen, 5 bedrooms and extra playrooms and music rooms for your 4 DC (for whom you happily spend the price of several houses on an education) . There's a posher area further down the main road with plenty of non ex councils that offer all of the things I mention, that the couple I speak about can most certainly afford as one of them is a doctor and the other one in another high earning profession.

AIBU to fucking HATE what right to buy has become? Seems to be an easy way for the upper middle class to have a big house and yet cut corners on prices. I have seen this happen time and time again, and yet there are tons of bigger houses in the area meant for the high earners that these people can easy afford and yet they just aren't being brought!

I honestly think right to buy should never have come about

It is one of the biggest reasons, those who need homes, don’t get it

No it's not wrong. What's wrong is the RTB policy in the first place.

By the time the people you are talking about have bought them they are no longer social housing already. They were owned by someone and they won't go back to being social housing so these people haven't done anything wrong imo.

Your anger is directed to the wrong place.
