To ask where I can buy a winter coat. I'm in New York and have 2 hours to shop

Hi. Just that really. Am away with friends and will have a couple of hours free later to go shopping. Am thinking Zara type prices rather than anything designer. We are in mid town. There is a Macy's nearby. Would that be a good place to start? We will also be near Central Park later on too. Any thoughts gratefully received.

You need to go to SoHo, it’s not too far on the subway. The shops around Central Park and 5th Avenue are sooo expensive! In Soho, there’s shops such as topshop, urban outfitters, forever 21, H&M etc. Have fun! Smile

Macy’s is ideal—it isn’t really expensive, unlike Saks or Bergdorf’s.

firsttimegoing · 08/09/2019 12:53

Walk up 5th ave towards Central Park you will find Zara, top shop, H&M among others.

Thanks. Thats helpful.

Do you know if Zara etc have different things to the UK? That would be perfect if so.

Century21 (like a TKMaxx) is great for coats. It’s downtown though (22 Cortlandt Street, New York NY 10007). Easy to get to on the subway.

DaisyChain149 · 08/09/2019 13:05

Macy's or century 21

caseyjones · 08/09/2019 13:07

There is also a big Zara near Century21 (222 Broadway)

Sparklesocks · 08/09/2019 13:07

Second century 21

Lemonsaretheonlyfruit · 08/09/2019 13:19

Really helpful thanks! Macy's and Century 21 being investigated now.

Ooh see if you can find a Uniqlo. They are awesome, and great for basics.

Ann Taylor! Great chain. 149 Fifth Avenue, 330 Madison Ave and probably several others.
