Idiot Fucking Drivers!

BlueRussiann · 05/09/2019 12:23

I'm so sick of seeing irresponsible/idiot drivers where I live! Any one else?

I have a neighbour who thinks he's still a teenager with is checkered car, body kit and loud exhaust. He leaves for worm at 5am and leaves his engine running for a good 5 minutes before setting off. God knows why!

Not only that but he bombs it down our tiny cul de sac where children are often out playing. Today he comes bombing down and I can see from my window that his dog is sat on his jumping all over his face, as he's fucking driving! Wtf is wrong with some people?

Surely you restrain your dog safely in a car or at the very least don't have it in your face whilst trying to drive a car 😡 Sorry for the rant!

OP posts:

He leaves for worm at 5am

Early bird gets the worm, obviously!

Just trying to imagine a 'chequered' car. Is it gingham, like a tablecloth?

Seriously though... he sounds a complete PITA. Who needs to warm up the engine at this time of year?

Cockw0mble · 05/09/2019 12:29

I drive a car with a (tasteful) body kit wrap, and a loud exhaust. Didn't realise that made me a "fucking idiot"...

I also loiter in my garage, it the engine running for a few minutes while I set up my hands free and music - I think you'd complain about my driving more if I was answering the phone while driving.

As for the dog, I totally agree. Dogs can be easily hurt or killed if not properly restrained while in the car

Ispini · 05/09/2019 12:30

Totally agree. I live rurally and the number of vans and 4x4s that think they’re entitled to drive in the middle or the wrong side of the road, at speed, on bends is ridiculous! I find myself getting more and more nervous driving as people are getting more and more impatient and show very little courtesy to other road users. I’ve lived in Africa and the Middle East and can say that some driving in the UK is reminiscent of dodgy experiences there!

Ispini · 05/09/2019 12:35

Sorry posted too soon! If he gets up at silly o clock for work (not his fault!) he needs to be considerate to his Neighbour’s. Maybe check if your engine sounds ok at 10 pm. 😜

5foot5 · 05/09/2019 12:35

I'm so sick of seeing irresponsible/idiot drivers where I live!

But you have only given one example, although agreed he sounds inconsiderate and careless.

I guess we only notice and comment on the cases which are bad and never give a mention to the careful and considerate. Do you feel you have more bad than good drivers living near you or have you never noticed?

mbosnz · 05/09/2019 12:38

How fast is one supposed to go on seriously narrow, one lane country roads, with high hedges and fences and no visibility, that it will be acceptable to bastards in vans who go so far up your arse that you miss your turn because if you'd checked to take it, he'd have ploughed into the back of you?

SuzieBishop · 05/09/2019 12:39

I agree OP. I live in a small estate but our street is the through way from another one to the main road. People absolutely fly down our street. I’ve been trying to take their registrations down but they fly past too fast for me to note them down 🤬

NeatFreakMama · 05/09/2019 12:41

I used to have a neighbour who ran his car at 5am for 30 minutes, used to wake us up but at least he wasn't a bit chilly getting in Angry

On the other hand we had a lovely motorbike neighbour once who would walk his bike to the main road before starting it so he didn't wake everyone up.

What else did you think having a loud exhaust made you Confused

DingDongDenny · 05/09/2019 13:02

Ispini I feel the same - it's like people don't know how to drive on rural roads anymore. They go round blind corners in the middle of the road at speed and you end up nearly in the ditch. I also worry that one day I won't be able to get out of their way on time

GinDaddy · 05/09/2019 13:15

@Cockw0mble

"I drive a car...with a loud exhaust. Didn't realise that made me a fucking idiot".

So answer me this then. What is the point of a loud exhaust, on what is most likely a

Cockw0mble · 05/09/2019 13:22

It's a stock part, on a car I like... the general public you probably would know it was wrapped or had a body kit as it's all fairly subtle.

Unfortunately I have to drive a car (though i do cycle most journeys up to 15 miles) so I want to drive a something that is aesthetically pleasing to me - so sorry for the inconvenience...

I've been driving a very long time now; not a single accident, parking ticket or speeding ticket. How many other people can say the same?

ElizaDee · 05/09/2019 13:42

How many kids do you wake up when passing their house or small animals do you terrify?

We have an arsehole like you that passes my house regularly. I've nearly been run out of the road twice.

My dog starts shaking after such a loud noise and doesn't stop for hours.

I've seriously considered sniping the cunt from my top windows.

You could still drive the same car but get the exhaust changed. People like you that drive stupid hearing offensive cars are just scum imo tbh. That's a strong word but it's how I feel. It's just totally unnecessary.

ElizaDee · 05/09/2019 13:45

No one hears that shit and thinks 'oooh wow, look at that cool car'. They think 'what a fucking arsehole'.

Cockw0mble · 05/09/2019 13:46

Oh how you've brightened my day. Just looked at the stats, and 2000 of this model have been sd so far this year in the uk - would you like to 'snipe' all of them?

Topseyt · 05/09/2019 13:48

I agree about the boy racer style driving and the unrestrained dog.

I have two dogs. They are restrained when in the car, with dog harnesses. They also travel in the boot, where in my car I have also rigged a way to attach their restraints.

Pets loose in cars are as much of a danger as unrestrained people and children.

Izzystar31 · 05/09/2019 13:49

I’m glad someone said it!

I actually live a fair distance away from the main road but still at 1am/2am whatever, there is ALWAYS some asshole with a loud exhaust bombing down the road with the POP sound and it usually wakes me and occasionally DD up.

PooWillyBumBum · 05/09/2019 13:51

I've been driving a very long time now; not a single accident, parking ticket or speeding ticket. How many other people can say the same?

Many of us, and we don’t have obnoxiously loud exhausts.

OP, we have the same issue on our street. There was a chap with a ridiculously loud car (and it was one of those ugly boy racer types too) that would speed off every morning at 6.30am and you’d also hear late in the evening. Just turning on the engine was unnecessarily loud. Thankfully he and his stupid car have gone elsewhere.

PooWillyBumBum · 05/09/2019 13:53

Oh god and the pop! Yes, the pop! It’s actually worse than those that speed up the road with windows open and music blaring. At least that’s tuneful in some way.

Biancadelrioisback · 05/09/2019 14:02

We had a sporty car. It was amazing to drive! But it wasn't obnoxious, or loud. I drove it sensibly and didn't speed.
Our street is a 30mph and is on a slight hill. It's not very long (around 30 houses each side) but there is one twat who, when he turns into the street, puts his foot down to zoom down as fast as he can. It's a T junction at the end and I'm convinced one day he'll plough into a tree or another car. He's the reason I'm so anal about locking the gate at the end of the drive way.

Biancadelrioisback · 05/09/2019 14:10

Unfortunately I have to drive a car (though i do cycle most journeys up to 15 miles) so I want to drive a something that is aesthetically pleasing to me

But you're inside the car?
I mean yeah, I wouldn't own a car I found repugnant but I'd say aesthetics are low down on my priority list if I have to drive a car

Raspberryfrog · 05/09/2019 14:19

There is no need to have a loud exhaust. I love next door to an elderly war veteran who gets flashbacks due to his PTSD thanks to the idiot opposite with a loud exhaust who revs it about 10 times before he leave the house. I work nights and also what to throw things at him. Always think people with loud exhausts are trying to overcompensate for something.

Raspberryfrog · 05/09/2019 14:22

I've been driving a very long time now; not a single accident, parking ticket or speeding ticket. How many other people can say the same?
Above 50% of us on here I should imagine
I wonder how many of us have drove a car without annoying people, making people jump or waking people up
Above 90% of us I should think

Funghi · 05/09/2019 14:22

They think 'what a fucking arsehole.

I’d have to agree.

My immediate thought is that it must be a teenager with their first car but regardless of the driver, my second thought is always along the lines of ‘what a twat’.

iklboo · 05/09/2019 14:26

Loud exhausts are called cock trumpets round here.
