Apologies if already posted.
This breaks my heart.
Please post this little boy a birthday card and make him smile.

Extract from article -
A heartbroken mum is appealing for birthday cards for her son who told her: "I've had enough of life."
Rhys will turn 14 on September 21, but his mum Tanya Williams fears he is losing hope.

Such a sad story but a little bit of kindness may go a long way?

The postie is going to be very busy!
Thanks for the link. Heartbreaking, poor boy.

QueefLatifah · 05/09/2019 22:02

Had a wee look online and there is a facebook page for his birthday card appeal. Also seen his page for fighting EB.
The photo of him without bandages will stay with me for a very long time. I cannot comprehend how a child can cope with that level of pain day in day out and still manage to smile.
What a superhero.

Absolutely agree about realising a lot of our moans are insignificant. I've been thinking about Rhys a lot today since I read the story and my heart goes out to him and his family, and all the other families where a child is in pain or suffering.

The national charity which supports ED:
www.debra.org.uk/

The person I always remember with this was Jonny Kennedy (the boy whose skin fell off) back in the 80s/90s. He was incredible.

QueefLatifah · 05/09/2019 23:06

I agree. Been thinking about him a lot too

Bumping again, for Rhys.

Vebrithien · 06/09/2019 06:54

Done! Only sent from Bath, but the more the merrier.
He's been so brave for so long. I would have been proud to have him as a son.

MrsMozartMkII · 06/09/2019 08:14

I'm travelling today (poorly yesterday so a day behind myself), will send tomorrow from Scotland.

drinkswineoutofamug · 06/09/2019 08:23

Will get a card and post it today.

mommybear1 · 06/09/2019 08:50

I'v never done this. What is an appropriate thing to write? Don't want to be condescending by accident.

StillIRise87 · 06/09/2019 09:14

Done! Through moonpig. Poor kid :-(

Sarcelle · 06/09/2019 09:23

I have put an alert on to buy him a card. Poor lad. I was wallowing in a bit of self pity. Nothing like reading something like this to snap me out of it.

calmpuppycrazykids · 06/09/2019 09:33

I hadn’t seen this before your post and I have just sent Rhys a card.
He is the same age as one of my sons and to see a child suffer through such an awful condition is heartbreaking.

Otterseatpuffinsdontthey · 06/09/2019 09:42

Watched a documentary on this condition number of years ago. Absolutely hellish.
Very, very sad for Rhys, and everyone affected by this condition. His poor mum won't even be able to cuddle him.
Will send him a Birthday card for the 21st. Like PP will have to think about the wording.

LatteLove · 06/09/2019 09:45

Poor wee guy, what a bloody sin :(

AlwaysDancing1234 · 06/09/2019 09:49

Thank you for sharing the link. What an amazing brave boy. He’s not much older than my DS and reading his words broke my heart. Off to get and post a card now.

bobstersmum · 06/09/2019 10:07

Will do that today, poor little soul.

bellabasset · 06/09/2019 10:13

Heartbreaking to read about Rhys, will be sending a card. This was also on our local group fb page. I've emailed this to Make a Wish foundation as well.

It does make you count your blessings.

smokeytoby · 06/09/2019 11:39

I've sent a card this morning and have asked others to do the same on my social media. Thank you to everyone else who has sent one, hopefully this puts a smile on his face x
