Apologies if already posted.
This breaks my heart.
Please post this little boy a birthday card and make him smile.

Extract from article -
A heartbroken mum is appealing for birthday cards for her son who told her: "I've had enough of life."
Rhys will turn 14 on September 21, but his mum Tanya Williams fears he is losing hope.

Such a sad story but a little bit of kindness may go a long way?

I’m going to send one from moonpig. Will you sign them off with your full names and locations? I’ve never done this before. So not sure what to actually put in a card to someone I do not know.

Slaymill · 05/09/2019 14:56

Just purchased one what a brave boy. Life is hard sometimes and I hope some famous people or some of his hero's write him a card.

Orangecake123 · 05/09/2019 14:57

I was thinking of using my nickname with my surname and location.

GruciusMalfoy · 05/09/2019 14:58

I'll pick a card up for Rhys, I hope they bring him a little bit of hope.

Livebythecoast · 05/09/2019 15:05

Done mine. I put 'I hope your day is as special as you are, Love xxx from (location).
I hope he gets loads like Craig Shergold, a little boy years ago who had a brain tumour. He received so many get well cards from around the world, he got in the Guinness book of records.

Asta19 · 05/09/2019 15:10

I've sent mine now and I'm sharing the link to his story where I can. I hope he gets lots.

danni0509 · 05/09/2019 17:57

Thanks. Copied address down, will post this weekend.

Inspiralcarpetry · 05/09/2019 18:03

Had a little cry reading the link. Card sent.

londonrach · 05/09/2019 18:09

Ds2's birthday is also on the 21st September. He will turn five!
He and I will make Rhys a card tomorrow and send it to tell him they are birthday buddies!

BogglesGoggles · 05/09/2019 19:35

Thank you for posting!

I spent a little time shadowing a scientist working on treatments for this condition. I hope one day his life will be better. In the meantime I’ll be popping a card in the post tomorrow.

Livebythecoast · 05/09/2019 19:49

Rhys will get so many cards ! How lovely for him - he deserves it, bless him. They're gonna need extra postmen in Bolton!
I love threads like these - makes you realise our little moans (all relevant in our own lives) are maybe not quite as bad as others.

Lemonsole · 05/09/2019 20:48

Somebody upthread mentioned Craig Shergold. He's 40 now. He's still getting cards. The Post Office and his family wanted it all to stop decades ago. They keep coming. Are e-cards acceptable? Seem a better option.

QueefLatifah · 05/09/2019 20:48

@Livebythecoast exactly. People take things for granted . We don’t know how lucky we are a lot of the time.

Just in case anyone hasn't noted yet,the website Banter Cards are doing free cards to Rhys- you just pay shipping.

Pikapikachooo · 05/09/2019 20:50

I saw this
On Facebook
And sent him a card ! I didn’t put happy birthday though Blush just a greeting
And it was a poncy art card I had

But the message was nice !

QueefLatifah · 05/09/2019 20:51

@Lemonsole
I doubt an e-card would have the same appeal as tearing open different cards.
His mum has asked this of the public, I’d respect that for now🙂

QueefLatifah · 05/09/2019 20:52

@Pikapikachooo it would be boring if they all were the same 😂

I read it yesterday and will be getting him a card tomorrow.

FedUpMum40 · 05/09/2019 21:01

My daughter is gonna make one for him, what's the address?

Pikapikachooo · 05/09/2019 21:08

I hope Enjoys his Van Gogh !! Bless
His wee heart

Livebythecoast · 05/09/2019 21:18

@Lemonsole - it was me who mentioned Craig Shergold. Only because I remember as a child in the 80's being asked at school to send a get well card. I read his Mothers story a few years later and remember his mum's words saying 'the cards saved him, I can't thank everyone enough, thank you for giving me my son back" I haven't followed his story since. I just meant I hope the cards help Rhys know lots of people care

Bezalelle · 05/09/2019 21:19

I'll be sending him one. I can't stop thinking about him. Poor lad. Hope the cards will cheer him up.

Chocolatedaim · 05/09/2019 21:28

I will get my four year old to make one tomorrow, poor little boy 🥺
