To ask you to not fall for the Chancellor's promise of spending on public services

I work in local government, and since the Tories came to power, the cuts to services have been brutal, with more planned.
Vital services have been cut, cut, and cut again.
The promises are again just empty words to get your vote.
They may as well write it on the side of a bus again....
And once the economy had nosedived after Brexit, there will be no money to fund them anyway.

YANBU. They are far too busy squandering money on brexit to spend it on public services.

ghostyslovesheets · 04/09/2019 17:54

YANBU I don't think most people fathom the level of cuts to LA funding - it's millions for each authority - last round of cuts was the smallest - only £17 million lobbed off the annual budget

services are at breaking point - and funding now wont even bring things back to 2016 levels!

also where did they suddenly find the magic money tree ?

Mistlewoeandwhine · 04/09/2019 17:59

We all know it’s a crock of shite. I don’t think the present government are physically capable of honesty, truth or decency.

Yabbers · 04/09/2019 18:00

Right, but don't be fooled by any opposition party saying they would spend more either.

OrangeJustice · 04/09/2019 18:02

I don’t think anybody believes a single thing any of them say do they? Certainly not anything positive like this anyway. If it’s bad news I’d be more inclined to think it was true.
