Says the Daily Telegraph, no less. AIBU to agree with these major City institutions?

I can understand their point but will still vote neither for Labour or Tory.

Huge international banks hardly care if his domestic policies fuck up Britain. It would be ironic indeed if the man who railed against the banks now took their endorsement!

longwayoff · 04/09/2019 12:46

I'm not aware of his seeking such endorsement, it's been offered as an assessment of what will cause least harm, JC or Brexit.

I'm not sure I'd trust either Citibank or Deutsche Bank. Both were hugely involved in the subprime market which led to the global financial collapse ten years ago. They might be betting against UK interests. If Corbyn were to get in - and I've seen no economic forecasts from him or proposals for a post-Brexit future - I'm not sure how long he would hold onto power. Clearly Frankfurt would love to take over London's supremacy as a city market.

longwayoff · 05/09/2019 07:28

Yes. I'm not agreeing with it or otherwise, just thought it was an interesting conclusion for them to have reached.

Citibank is American and Deutsche Bank is German. Their interests are not aligned with those of the British people, I can assure you.

meditrina · 05/09/2019 07:35

As long as you remember that they want to put profit ahead of the actual referendum results.

There isn't going to be a new deal. After last night's vote, EU has said talks are now in paralysis. We have no leverage.

May deal, no deal?

Couldn't agree more!
