Would it be possible to have one date on the calendar, same each year, when everyone washes their hair with headlice removal products - over time, the take up could increase, and could it be possible to eradicate headlice ? I'm not sure the headlice removal products manufacturers would want this though!

Yes should be today day before school starts!

Just use a few drops of tea tree oil mixed with conditioner at each wash and the lice will stay away anyway, no need for additional products that quickly become ineffective

YANBU. I don't understand why this isn't a thing.

Chocolatehat · 04/09/2019 09:35

Yes, I have often wondered why this isn't a thing.

AMidsummersNightsNightmare · 04/09/2019 09:36

It would have to be headlice week surely, to get rid of the bastards properly. Ours always take a few goes to banish - but I'm going to do the tea tree thing from now on, thanks Sunnyjac Flowers

They do something similar in the Netherlands only it's school by school. There is a volunteer called a "Louse Mother" Grin who regularly checks kids' hair. If any lice are found the whole school gets a notice that it's time to do a treatment.

We used to have a nit nurse in primary school.
The problem is always the same few parents who dont give a shit and dont check or treat their kids when the letter gets sent out.
