Prince Harry saying "we can all do better" has really irked me- aibu?! He has every want and need satisfied while the majority of us and trying to do right by the environment whilst making ends meet. He is becoming very sanctimonious!

Honestly I wish people would stop comparing H&M with W&K. The latter are the future monarch and his consort. They are building an entirely different life. Their major work is yet to come.

BertrandRussell · 08/09/2019 10:23

There are often empty seats in the members enclosure.

She is an Olympic champion which I think will give her plenty of status as a consultant.

BertrandRussell · 08/09/2019 10:25

“Their major work is yet to come.”

Grin So they’re having a nice easy life preparing for their “major work” in 15/20 years time!

Racing isn’t an Olympic sport......

Easy?! I wouldn't want their life, now or then! Grin

Zara lives with her mum at Gatcombe park.
Gatcombe Park is a private home owned by princess anne. It was a gift in 1976 from the queen who bought it privately and gifted it to anne.

So no different than thousands of people today who have had houses gifted to them by rich parents who then have adult children living with them apart from the fact Gatcombe park is a large working estate and not a 4 bed detached in the suburbs.

“Easy?! I wouldn't want their life, now or then! ”

Why on earth not?

Caucho · 08/09/2019 10:33

The bloke who taking the picture was trying to get a selfie with Federer apparently and wasn’t bothered about her! The photos showing his phone screen back it up too. Don’t blame the security for assuming the opposite though as looked like he was trying to get in her face.

The seats were empty though. Obviously not the whole area but there was large buffer which is unusual. Just look at Harry at the rugby or William supporting Villa in the promotion playoffs. There will be bodyguards close by or close but they’re in with other spectators

Indeed. If she were actually consulting in the sport she’s an Olympic champion in...

Not in the member’s enclosure. And Wimbledon has confirmed that nobody was asked to move.

Dontsweatthelittlestuff · 08/09/2019 10:40

Zara is also a breeder and trainer. It wouldn’t surprise me if she is one day in charge of the royal stud.

IcedPurple · 08/09/2019 10:40

I see the loyal Meghanistas are back to defend their gas-guzzling, product-placing heroine.

I genuinely do not understand what it is about Haz and Megz that has no many people rushing to defend them. Neither is especially talented, interesting, or selfless. Both of them live off public funds. Why do they deserve such adoration? Certainly it is not reciprocated.

IcedPurple · 08/09/2019 10:42

Zara Tindall is a private citizen, and therefore irrelevant in this discussion. She has no royal titles and is not a 'working royal'. Harry and Megz are. Crucial distinction.

BertrandRussell · 08/09/2019 10:44

I want the lot of them abolished. But the way Meghan has been treated by the media and by the GBP is shocking and deeply unfair. Just look at the constant stream of false crap about her people repeat on here

None of them deserve “adoration”. The hatred levelled at M&H is fairly ridiculous though, especially given W&K so much of the same stuff and are praised for it.

BertrandRussell · 08/09/2019 10:48

“Zara is also a breeder and trainer. It wouldn’t surprise me if she is one day in charge of the royal stud.”
Oh come on! Do you genuinely think she is paid £100,000 a year to attend 4 meetings a year for her knowledge of racing? If you do, I have a beautiful bridge over the Thames here I can let you have cheap.....

Caucho · 08/09/2019 10:49

I’d rather slag off Harry anyway. Megan is just doing what American actresses do but either hasn’t grasped or doesn’t want to grasp what the Royal family is ‘allowed’ and not allowed to do.

Harry on the other hand has been born and brought up in that environment since birth so does know what the done thing is. The press narrative is that the conniving American has corrupted him when it’s more likely he doesn’t give a shit although he does seem to have had a little bit of a personality transplant

IcedPurple · 08/09/2019 10:49

She’s basically has to retire and give up a cushy career to be Harrys wife

She was a D list cable TV actress with only one role of any note to her name - and that on a 'meh' show filmed in Toronto. Once "Suits" finished, and she was pushing 40, it's unlikely she'd have had much of a career because she isn't a very good actress and the 'hot girl' roles, such as they were, would dry up.

So this is an absolutely fantastic career move for someone who clearly has always wanted fame. Trouble is, that's how she sees it, a career move to benefit her, not taking on the role of public servant whose job is to represent HM and Britain, not garner 'likes' on her Instagram profile and network with A listers who wouldn't have taken her calls before she met dumb Harry.

cakeisalwaystheanswer · 08/09/2019 10:50

Oh jeez we're back to Wimbledon.

Most people don't realise that AELTCC which hosts Wimbledon is a private club. There are large seating areas for members on the show courts and they can flit court to court to watch whichever match they prefer. It is common for there to be a large number of seats empty on court one if a more popular match is playing on CC. The idea that 40 AELTCC members were moved to accommodate MM is ludicrous, they wouldn't move if the Queen turned up with the Pope in tow.

So looking at the order of play for the Thursday MM attended, the members had the choice between watching Serena beat some unknown on Court one or watching "plucky" British no1 Konta on CC. Personally, I would rather watch paint dry than watch Konta but the AELTCC members will have flocked to CC union flags (metaphorical obviously) to the ready.
