School boundaries maintenance

Aibu to complain? I don't want to be an annoying neighbour, it was our choice to move next to a school and my kids attend there so want to keep a good relationship with the school. But...... The school is surrounded by hedges which are usually cut once a year by an external ground maintenance company.
Our house is side on to the school field, and we have 25 metres of hedges (they are trees not privets) running from the front of our house to the back. The school own the hedges.
The hedges are messy and hugely overgrown for most of the year. They come and cut them once during the summer holidays. They haven't been so still not done and kids go back tomorrow. Even when they do come, the do a rush job of it and its messy and not done properly. I'm absolutely sick of it, I wish they could all be ripped out. We have put fencing our side.

Ive mentioned to school before but they don't say much and that they can't be done more because of the school budget. It's an academy.

Is there anything else I can do? Do they have a duty to neighbours who share boundaries with the school? Or do we put up and shut up? Before we put the fencing up there was also huge holes that you could easily fit through
