Edinburgh. I'm sitting in bed listening to a mouse scurrying around underneath. They'll be wanting to nest inside, now that the weather's turning colder. And I also have the horror of hearing them inside the walls.
All very normal here in the New Town.

What are your bugbears where you live?

Omg! The world is losing its mind. Sad

I actually love where I live. Green village in Greater London. Great schools, community, shops, restaurants and cafes, cinema, woods and pearls.

Downsides are the trek into town, house prices and wait for GP appointments. I am lucky I moved her 20 years ago and had to buy a wreck to afford it,

Not a town, but my pet hates are the aggressive water fowl Grin

That it's been flooded with spice, frankly. The impact it's had over the last couple of years is catastrophic.

SistersOfMerci · 07/09/2019 08:47

Just caught up with this and I agree that driving on rural roads is terrible because all you see are dead animals everywhere because arseholes have no idea how to drive rurally or semi-rurally.

We have a lot of single track roads near us and as someone said above, people have no bloody idea how passing places work.

But it's all the roadkill that's got so much worse in the last few years.

ImTheCaddy · 07/09/2019 09:12

Street drinkers/drug takers. Homelessness.

It's got really bad in the past few years.

tbh, I've had a pretty rough time.
There are a lot of positives about where i live, but this thread isn't about them.
In this town, there's a lot of gossip, if people take dislike to you or your kids, this spreads to their friends & family, even the teachers at school pick up on it (the TAs live locally & socially mix with the parents).

If you vent about Amy's behaviour to Mary, sure enough it turns out Amy was bridesmaid at Mary's wedding 3 weeks ago. Lots bonds & history between seemingly random people.

Nothing bad is happening at moment, at least, things have settled. But I bear the scars and so do DC.

There's < 1.5 degrees of separation in the whole region; I meet people all the time who live within 12 miles who know other people I know living around here. Claustrophobic.

-Market town in East Anglia and I can't wait to get back to the big bad anonymous city.
