999 or 101 right now?

I can hear cars being driven like total arseholes at the local retail park. Somehow they get in there at night (even thought it's gated) & they scream up & down 'donutting' & skidding - quite possibly with cars stolen for the purpose. They're making a terrible racket & it must be dangerous. Should I report it or just ignore? I tried my local 101 but it refers to the online page & you can't detail specifics. Wwyd?

I think 101 , it isn't an emergency as such more possibly dangerous and irritating at this point

HappyHammy · 01/09/2019 22:40

you can call 999 if you think lives are in danger by this, do what you feel is right

LetsPlayDarts · 01/09/2019 22:42

101 for this.

Wellandtrulyoutnumbered · 01/09/2019 22:43

101 online report if you can't get through on 101.

PinkBuffalo · 01/09/2019 22:44

101 for this. If you stay on the line you should get through

TheRealShatParp · 01/09/2019 22:44

101 I reckon.

plominoagain · 01/09/2019 22:46
  1. Anti social certainly , but you won’t get a blue light response for this .
Pollypenguin01 · 01/09/2019 22:47

101 unless it escalates and you either fear for someone’s life or property or fear for your own life/property.
If you hear genuine fear shouting/screaming then 999 would be also appropriate.

Lindy2 · 01/09/2019 22:50

I'd call 101. If they feel it needs immediate attention they escalate it to a 999 call whilst you are on the line. They did this once when I called them.

MereDintofPandiculation · 01/09/2019 23:08

When I've dialled 101, the recorded message has said if it's an emergency or "if a crime is in progress" please re-dial 999.

TatianaLarina · 01/09/2019 23:12

If there’s a possibility the care are stolen it’s 999. I rang the local police station in a similar circumstance and they told me I should have rung 999.

TatianaLarina · 01/09/2019 23:12

cars not care

TatianaLarina · 01/09/2019 23:14

999 is not just for ‘emergencies’ - it’s the number to ring if a crime is or may be being committed.

BeneathTheMist · 01/09/2019 23:16

I've contacted the police on twitter before, for non urgent stuff, well sort of concerning more than anything.

Templetonstunafish · 01/09/2019 23:18

I'd probably just turn my telly up if I were you

StoneofDestiny · 01/09/2019 23:38

Tatiana is right.
I was told off for not ringing 999 once when I phoned the non emergency number when I saw a car pull up outside a neighbours without lights in the middle of the night. Guys got out to go to a car (I assumed to steal).
I was told the police had been after these guys for ages and I should always call 999 if a crime is happening or looks like it is likely to be - and there does not need to be a threat to life.

I’d ring 999. The situation is happening right now and they may well be in stolen cars.

Curious2468 · 02/09/2019 00:53

There was a massive crash recently when idiots like this ended up driving in to a crowd. Please report it

user1473878824 · 02/09/2019 00:55

Wait someone called the police because a car pulled up without lights on?!

NerrSnerr · 02/09/2019 07:44

you can call 999 if you think lives are in danger

That's not the case. If you think a crime is currently taking place then ring 999.
