Size16, best shop

I am a fatty at size 16, although I am trying to lose it can anyone recommend the best retailer for clothes to hide lumps and bumps? Colleagues wear fashionable, throwaway fashion from the likes of new look and Dorothy Perkins but I need nice, modest clothes for a large size. AIBU for online recommendations?

Boohoo do a curve range. Some really nice stuff on there.

It depends on your style, but marks and Spencers do pretty decent stuff - and you can filter size 16 on ASOS with ‘workwear’

I'm a 16 too and I started getting my clothes from Tesco of all places. Even the Jean's are comfortable! The clothes I bought before I was pregnant I could carry on wearing after I had a bump. I find there clothes very flattering plus they are not expensive! Win win, I wont shop anywhere else now!

ASDA are great. I find M&S cater for ladies with waists!. Tesco are also very good, Dorothy Perkins do good workwear.

I'd put this on S&B.

You're only a size 16 - every high street shop does a size 16. You can wear what others are wearing

Have a look at Cotton Traders. They do really nice casual and summer clothes - and a lot of their stuff is 100% cotton, and very good quality.

Although high street shops do cater for size 16 and 18 I've found that they aren't as good as the likes to Yours, Simply Be or the proper 'curve' range in the likes of ASOS/Dorothy Perkins etc.

I'm don't have a long torso and have started to find that shops seem to keep the length of a lot of items the same but increase the width. In plus size shops the length increases along with the width. I bought two dresses from Boohoo, one curve and one normal - both a size 16. The normal one barely came down over my bum because the length was the same as a smaller size, but I had more lumps for it to go over and made it shorter fitting. The curve range was a better fit length wise.

Size 16 is the average size of the British woman, not some outlandish horror.

16 is not really fat and all shops stock a 16. All of them.

I feel your pain OP. How tall are you? I'm only 5'4" and whilst yes, as pp have said, size 16 is widely available, they always look crap.

The best I've found are Précis Petite, Hobbs and sometimes Sainsbury's.
