Halloumi fries

I’ve obviously come late to the table here but I saw them in Aldi today and thought I would give them a try. WTF they are like dry squeaky weird things. I knew they wouldn’t be melty but they were so odd. Aibu to not understand the hype. Should I just stick to my middle aged person chips instead of trying to be hip with the young folk?

I’m still trying to get my head around halloumi in any way, shape or form being “middle class, yummy mummy” fodder !

@70isaLimitNotaTarget I bought some from Costco the other day and was not impressed. Far too salty and not a nice consistency when cooked. So save your money!

I bought some from Tesco yesterday. They were absolutely vile and ended up in the bin. 🤮 doesn't do them justice.
