To expect changes to be made after an accident?

We went to a local small fair type place. DD1 had an accident where she fell over on some very uneven ground and split her head open on concrete flags that were slightly raised. The uneven ground is specifically made for kids to run around (soft chippings) so I’m unsure why they put random flags in. I did complain at the time and was told somebody would contact me. I’ve heard nothing in over 3 months and they’ve still not sorted the area out. AIBU to have expected this to be an issue to them and to maybe me report it to their governing health and safety people or am I being a bit PFB because of DDs injury? Blush I have form for kicking up a fuss and my friends have told me it was an accident and to let it go Grin

Massively pfb. I think if all your friends are telling you to let it go you should probably listen to them.

Perhaps you should contact them again as they haven't been in touch with you.

I’ve just sent them a message on their FB page to see if there’s any update. I was hoping really they’d maybe change the area so it didn’t happen again, it just seems wrong to have concrete bits in a soft chipped area Shock

Suggested change: put a helmet on your sprog

I would follow it up with them.

My niece had a similar accident. The issue was only sorted when an elderly lady tripped, broke her hip and took legal action and won compensation.

Sure the council has better things to do. They probably updated the risk assessment and moved on.

Cheers folks, I’ve sent them a FB Message if I get no joy I’ll just leave it at that. My concern was it’s a serious accident waiting to happen especially in a kids area but there’s not a lot more I can do.
