To wonder why everyone doesn't do this?

So there's quite a big festival on in my city today. It's not sold out and has huge capacity. Today there are so many tickets for sale online, half price, people practically giving them away!
I bought my tickets when they first came on sale and just wondered why everyone doesn't just buy them last minute? Obviously wouldn't work for Glastonbury, but if there was something that you weren't that bothered about I'm sure you could find tickets a few days before.
Basically I'm annoyed that I could have bought them today for £20!

I think a lot of people do.

If its something I can take or leave, I just wait. If its sonwghkng I really want to do I pay the price when they come out.

If it’s something I really want to do I’m happy to pay full price to ensure I can go, as I’d be more annoyed if I missed it if that makes sense ? If it’s just something to do for the day then I offer wait last minute as I’m not upset to miss out

If no one bought any at the start the event would be cancelled.

Presumably the people who buy the tickets earlier at full price aren’t willing to take the chance that there’ll still be tickets available a few days before the event.

As in, they’d rather pay full price than risk missing out altogether by leaving it too late.
