To think that any man can have an affair?

But some don’t. What stops them?

I know a man who is married but says he’s never been in love. Has kids. I think is concerned about his reputation. He met a woman, developed feelings for her but didn’t have an affair. What stopped him but not other men? Sex drive? Fear? Wholesomeness?

I always thought that any man would have an affair if he thought he could get away with it. AIBU?

He obviously has some strong bond with his wife, whatever he says. And he obviously isn't really that into the OW as he has had the chance to take it further and has declined.

He just may not have had an opportunity. Not every man is utterly desirable.

I never trouble myself thinking about the ins and outs of other people's relationships and don't understand why anybody would really. OP, you have no idea what's going on in their relationship or if he's even telling you the truth and, if you're not involved, why does it even matter to you?

Any woman can have an affair too. Why are you painting men as if they have no control over themselves? Some men have affairs, some women have affairs. This is unfortunately life.

the implication is that any man can easily find a woman whom he finds desirable and who is willing to have sex with him, I'm pretty sure this is not the case
most men could find a woman willing to have sex with them for money though
it's actually much easier for women to have affairs should they have the desire to do so
