Immediately call a general election or stand down as PM.
Leaving someone else to deal with the shit storm.
A bit like DC ...

Yes, he could call an election afterwards and be out.
Someone else will then have to negotiate a deal from a much weaker position.

There's quite a bit of speculation that we'll have a GE on 1st Nov - pretty unlikely as it's usually a Thursday for some reason.

He might well win a GE. You're right.
However, my question is - will he actually stick around to deal with the shitstorm work required afterwards?! I'm predicting not.
