To not understand how blocking someone works?

I have never been blocked or blocked someone else so I don’t understand how it works.

Let’s say I want to block someone on my phone, email and Facebook, what happens when they try to call, text, email or Messenger? Do they see/hear a “you have been blocked” message?

If I block them, will I ever know if they try to contact me via those methods?

Cheers.

If you block them on Facebook they won't be able to find your profile - it's almost like you have deleted it to them as no search will bring it up.

The messages won’t deliver via text or WhatsApp. They also won’t be able to see your profile pic on WhatsApp and whether you’re online or not. On FB they just won’t see your profile anymore, you won’t be one of their friends and they won’t be able to message you.

You won’t receive any of the messages once they are blocked.

If you block them on Facebook they can't find you at all. Any previous messages will just come up as you can't reply to this conversation, but that's with either a block or if you've deactivated your account. Block on phone, I get an alert that tells me a blocked number has tried to ring but not a message.

Email not sure.

Does it matter if they know. There's nothing they can do about it. It's a good feeling to block the toxic.
