I have never ever seen Downton Abbey and don't intend to.

OP posts:
dayslikethese1 · 30/08/2019 11:24

Oh loads Grin

-My laundry habits would not be MN approved (wash bedding/towels when I remember/when they smell, never wash about 40, don't separate etc.) I just buy everything in a darker colour and therefore don't have to worry about 'keeping whites white'
-Never iron or dust
-Like being invited to hens and weddings and have enjoyed all the ones I've been invited to, don't see the problem with couples asking for money (much easier!)
-I don't meal plan or batch cook and frequently eat frozen veggie burgers/filled pasta/baked potatoes or go to the chippy when I can't be arsed to cook
-I have a terrible work ethic and don't care about being a 'career woman'
-I don't really like kids (sorry!) I don't have any and I don't feel the need to justify this. I am also not married and have no intention of getting married.
-I like my DP's parents/family
-I don't care that my DP spends time playing video games
-I would love it if friends would unexpectedly pop round to mine and would definitely answer the door (unlikely as none live close by)
-Have never been to a spa

Spidey66 · 30/08/2019 11:24

I often wear shoes inside the house.

I let workmen/deliverymen use my toilet, even if they need a poo.

dayslikethese1 · 30/08/2019 11:25

Oh forgot to say I have a loo brush AND bin in my bathroom!

dayslikethese1 · 30/08/2019 11:27

That is cathartic Grin

ColdTattyWaitingForSummer · 30/08/2019 11:31

Oh.. one from this morning.. My cat had pooped on my carpet overnight Envy

Zoidbergonthehalfshell · 30/08/2019 11:33

I have a loo brush.
I change the bedding and the towels when they seem to need doing.
Sometimes I have sex if DH wants to when I'm not in the mood because I love him and it's not all about me.

northernknickers · 30/08/2019 11:41

I kiss my baby granddaughter ON THE LIPS 😱 (step too far?) (tbf I kiss her on any available skin...she's scrumptious!!!)

I sometimes get up on a weekend morning and stay in my pyjamas all day...with yesterday's knickers on 🤷‍♀️

I use bleach.

And tea towels.

I love Yankee Candles.

My towels get changed when I think about it...same with bedding.

Lemonsaretheonlyfruit · 30/08/2019 11:44

Mine is Center Parcs related.

ThePhoenixRises · 30/08/2019 11:49

Thank you @ThePhoenixRises, but why is it a problem

I have no idea, I read the original thread, did not find it funny then and still don't now.

BananaRaces · 30/08/2019 11:55

I took my husband's name when we married and we asked for honeymoon donations as presents.
I sort out presents/cards for his side of the family.
I do all the laundry, DH can't even use the washing machine, but none of it gets ironed at all.
My DD has at least 1 hour of screen time pretty much every day.
We have a bathroom bin.
I love Christmas.
I wash our sheets and towels every 2 weeks.
My MIL is fab.

Gladimnotcampinginthisweather · 30/08/2019 11:58

We make everyone welcome at our house.
I don't like David Attenborough as a broadcaster (although if he turned up here we would invite him in and offer him a cup of tea).
I do not like it when children scream in supermarkets and their parents make no effort to stop them.
I used Zoflora on cloth nappies 40 plus years ago and now the two are inextricably linked in my mind.

GabsAlot · 30/08/2019 12:02

Downton is overrated crap same as got-the film looks even worse

i mainly do pre cooked meals and i dont answer the door

CarpetBagged · 30/08/2019 12:15

I use lots of bleach.
My washing machine is in daily use.
I have my husband's surname.
I don't care about protein, carbs, fat, sugar. I eat what I fancy eating when I fancy eating it.
I have two loo brushes and a bathroom bin.
I don't do recycling. Everything flammable gets thrown in the garden incinerator and set fire to.
I get on great with all my neighbours. I even take their parcels in for them if I'm at home.
I always answer the door.
I love my in laws.
I fly regularly to see my family and will continue to do so.
I danced a jig of joy when the kids left home.
Me and my husband have sex wherever and whenever we feel like it in our home....unless we have visitors of course.
I love visitors and always welcome them with a cuppa and cake. I even welcome overnight visitors.

I will now atone my above sins by getting stuck into a bacon butty.

GabsAlot · 30/08/2019 12:17

Oh im also financially reliant on my dh prob be fucked if he left me

Smotheroffive · 30/08/2019 12:22

My mum used to take my then-little son to Pets At Home and tell him they were 'going to the zoo

Cute and hilarious

I think accusing anyone who voted leave of being ignorant and ill informed is ... ignorant and ill informed

Have to agree with this, as with the way any that accuse others of being whilst behaving exactly the same, or worse, themselves Confused invariably cant see it in themselves whilst shouting loudly about it in others.

Adore talking to babies uninvited and loved having mine interacted with too, created a lovely social vibe and friendliness.

Bloody hate the thought of zoflora or whatever its called and especially the likes of Hinch promoting over use and over-zealous cleaning.

Love welcoming surprise guests, but also dont bother answering door or phone unless expecting someone!

Cannot understand or get into the 3 showers a day mindset, so what frankly. Or the over-washing of towels.

Also, own up to having and using loo brushes. Not at all shame faced about that.

Cannot understand the period blood shame/horror or the boob milk shame/horror.

Loving how funny and ironic it is that we are told the whole of MN is one hive mindset, when having a thread like this shows the exact opposite.

Also, have a 'd'cat that understands toilet etiquette, in drinking from a toilet bowl before peeing in it! its all very unnatural for dcats apparently

Waxonwaxoff0 · 30/08/2019 12:30

I hate gin.

I don't make DS eat vegetables every day.

"Mummy bloggers" get on my tits.

I'm a single mum and work PT in a cushy school hours job so I receive working tax credits, I've got no intention of working full time until DS is old enough not to need childcare.

Smotheroffive · 30/08/2019 12:35

Also hate Gin, I thought that was important to add

Bettercallsaul1 · 30/08/2019 12:43

I like and admire President Trump. not really

Smotheroffive · 30/08/2019 12:46

Eaten breakfast routinely doing school runs and getting to work, the whole family awaits stoning

firstimemamma · 30/08/2019 13:24

I eat carbohydrates.
I have given my baby birthday cake.

Asthenia · 30/08/2019 13:24

I find the idea of people not wanting anyone to hold their babies really, really odd and I’ve never encountered it in real life. I want mine to be held and loved by all my family and friends!
Also agree that the stay at home parent should be doing the majority of the housework.
Childcare isn’t hard - it’s tedious and tiring and often boring but it’s not hard.
I change my sheets once a month, always have done, always will do.

Smotheroffive · 30/08/2019 13:27

I change my sheets once a month, always have done, always will do

...but did nobody die Asthenia ? This just can't be! I call lie!!! Grin

Asthenia · 30/08/2019 13:36

I can’t believe I’ve survived all these years!

I also hate the idea of mooncups and really like Jeremy Corbyn, which is super un-mumsnetty!

Smotheroffive · 30/08/2019 13:58

Just think of all the water, detergent, money, planet's resources, time and energy (not just your own!) that you saved!

Oh, to have lived to tell the tale. Just wow! Wink

Waxonwaxoff0 · 30/08/2019 14:03

Oh I forgot - I have long acrylic nails that MN would proclaim to be "tacky" and I manage fine with them.
