I'm not woo. I don't believe in ghosts or psychics.

Yesterday I was feeling extremely depressed. This line popped into my head: "My uncle is dead". Totally random, I didn't even have any uncle in particular in mind.

Today someone called me because my estranged father was trying to get hold of me to tell me his brother has died.

Is this just a coincidence? If it could be something more, how would it work?

  1. Confirmation bias - you remembered that thought when the event happened, other random thoughts weren't significant so you've ignored those.

  2. You have developed a skill called pre-cognition.

  3. Coincidence

Choose whichever explanation you feel comfortable with, that's the only way in these scenarios, no-one can prove beyond a shadow of a doubt which one of the above is true. Although a lot of people will argue their choice is definitely true.
