To ask What the Hell to Wear to Mamma Mia "The Party"?

I am going to Mamma Mia "The Party" on Sunday at O2 Arena in London. I have absolutely no idea what to wear! It's basically the stage show/movie, in a Greek Taverna style setting with food and drink and an Abba Disco afterwards. Tickets were expensive! Has anyone else been and, if so, what did you/other people wear. I don't want to start getting fancy dress. I am a 55 old woman with an ok figure (size 10) but a bit of a tum and bingo wings. I was a teen in the 70s but have sadly binned all of my platform shoes and all other clothes which would have been perfect! Help, appreciate any responses.

@saj90

Thank you so much! Brilliant idea! I have just ordered a pair of dungerees from Next and they have a nice peasant blouse! Flips flops will be fine, now just got to get the feather boa! So, I will be rocking the Meryl Streep look!

Have a great time! Plimsolls would be fine. Watch your toes if you wear flip flops at the disco!

OrangeJustice · 29/08/2019 16:43

Was just coming on to say get some dungarees but I see I’ve been beaten to it Grin

Finewineandcake · 29/08/2019 16:54

@shitwithsugaron (love the name) Kaftan is beautiful, I had an amazing one years ago, guess what, threw it out?! I am so hoping it will be good, the tickets cost - (cough ouch) £173 each!

@saj90 Maybe I will revisit the idea of flip flops, disco crushing toes! Might have to dig out my daughters old adidas trainers

Thing is, the O2 Arena is massive, they do huge concerts there - our tickets are super expensive I think because we are in the "inner circle" of the Taverna set up - so when the disco kicks off it'g going to be bonkers!

@OrangeJustice You have good taste and yes, Dungerees are the way to go at my age, Meryl is a fashion leader when it comes to dressing down comfortably.

Before I buy the feather boa, which I can get from Amazon - thinking black and silver. But there's a lovely rainbow one, which despite me not being gay I would love to wear with pride.

Thank you all - but the funny thing is I posted this originally on Style & Beauty but then realised that AIBU is the only way to post. Going for the black and silver feather boa, to rock the Meryl look.
