Anxiety, insomnia, pms. Also use the roll on for arthritis and general pain

EmeraldShamrock · 29/08/2019 10:47

I don't think it is any use for pain unless you buy it online and it has a high concentration of around 70%.
The ones in local shops are only a small amount.
My uncle uses THC he has Parkinson's he found it helps with his sleeping and shakes, my mum tried the THC for anxiety, my granny inlaw before she died of cancer. I tried the THC once it gave me a mild relaxation feeling.

sophiehalpin · 29/08/2019 11:09

hey @emeraldShamrock, thanks is that concentration of CBD?.

Which brand have you found that is good for this?.

I have no advice but following with interest.

Ponoka7 · 29/08/2019 11:21

The one from Holland and Barratt worked for me for pain.

There are stronger formulations about, the stronger the more effective, apparently.

Even QVC are selling it now.

ohdearmel · 29/08/2019 11:26

@EmeraldShamrock, where did you get thc from? I can't find it anywhere.

interestingname · 29/08/2019 11:28

I'm in Ireland and use the Celtic Wind one from Evergreen - it's around €30 for a small bottle, so it's not cheap. I find a few drops before bed and it really helps me sleep and stop waking in the middle of the night worrying about absolutely everything!

interestingname · 29/08/2019 11:30

We also have a coffee shop in our town where it's all CBD based coffees, cakes etc!

Hi I'm a user of CBD oil and it's helped me so much I couldn't be without it. I have arthritis in my knee and could hardly walk 9 months ago. I had some physio and was also taking lots of painkillers.
I joined a cbd group on Facebook and read lots of people's experiences with it and thought I'd give it a try.
First I tried one from a place called simply cbd. Lots of people said it was brilliant and really helped.
It was also quite inexpensive so I gave it a go for a month. It didn't do the trick for me even when I tried one of their stronger ones.
But as I said it helped others so I'm not putting them down.
Then I found a place called The Healing Cauldron.
I tried their 3% one and it helped me so much but had to take it about four times a day.
Anyway I'm now on the 7% one and I take it twice per day. Three drops under the tongue leave for a few minutes ( dosent taste nice but worth it)
I absolutely credit this with giving me my life back as I was in pain every day and walking was agony.
It's not cheap at £50 a bottle but it lasts me about five weeks and is worth every penny.
Do some research as people get ripped off all the time with cbd oils.
I've heard some people have paid hundreds of pounds for a bottle of oil only to find it's just a weak hemp type product with nothing beneficial in it.
I'm not on Facebook any more as it's shite but I buy my oil from the Healing Cauldron shop online.
If you are on Facebook I'd recommend joining some groups to get the score on it all. I found them very helpful.
Hope this helps and good luck x

BIL has friends in Canada for the thc oil. I had it in a vape.
You can buy the high percentage CBD from Spain or Lanzarote, it is 70% but an oral form not vape, you drop under the tongue.
The stuff here is quiet mild while it works for anxiety it has a placebo effect.
Depending on what you need it for if it is for parkinson's or recovering from radiation therapy, the higher the percentage the better.
AFAIK you can buy both THC and CBD from Spain.

artio0 · 29/08/2019 13:50

I'm using it for anxiety and it really helps stop the never ending doubting and worrying thoughts I otherwise can not stop, ever. It takes 3-4 days to build up in the body, I take 2-3 drops in the AM and PM and a small bottle lasts for about a month. Make sure you buy from a good source as high street ones (eg Holland & Barrett) often aren't concentrate enough and more of a marketing gag. I think 5% or more is good for mental health issues, more for physical pain. I can really recommend CBD Brothers (UK), their products are very high quality and if I remember right organic too. And their customer service is really good too. You can get different strengths from them, I use the weakest one (the blue one) from them.

DorisDances · 29/08/2019 13:56

I use this one from Holland & Barrett - has made a big difference 're joint pain. Worth a try!

sophiehalpin · 29/08/2019 14:54

@Dustyroad63 amazing to here that it was really positive for you and helped a lot :).
Do you have to mix the CBD with anything, or just take it on its own?. And was the taste ok or?.
Had a look at the CBD brothers , thanks for sharing, have you tried any other cbd products or from them that helped?. xx

I'm also interested in buying some. I have chronic back pain from a prolapsed disc and on many medications.
It's only something I've started thinking about but wondering how good it is for pain. Better with drops, creams, in drinks?

superstar63 · 17/09/2019 07:08

Bump!

I am interested if anyone can tell me the best one for insomnia. I am not on Facebook so cannot join a group and there are so many around that it is hard to know what is best!

ShouldBeCookingDinner · 17/09/2019 13:24

I prefer CBDa oil as it contains more compounds and is more anti-inflamatory.

I buy capsules from Cheds, this one is 20% - chedscbdoils.com/product/cbd-golden-oil-sativa-capsules-20/

They're very good for any kind of cramping. CBDa oil stopped one of my gallbladder attacks within 5 minutes. It's antispasmodic as well as other things.

ShouldBeCookingDinner · 17/09/2019 13:27

@superstar63 For insomnia I would take this one, as it is high in indica, which is the more relaxing one.

Outsomnia · 18/09/2019 18:42

Any side effects does anyone know? Just wondered, as it sounds like a wonder component, well a drug without the high.

Pulipatchouli · 18/09/2019 20:34

I used it (highly suspiciously) after my hysterectomy. I HATED morphine, my sons persuaded me to try it.
Despite my prejudice I found it to be effective and fabulous pain relief.

timshelthechoice · 18/09/2019 20:42

I also use Ched. Brilliant product! I take the capsules as I'd never remember an oil; capsules I just put the bottle with my other meds and take them all at once.

TiggeryBear · 18/09/2019 21:08

I purchase mine from hannabis.co.uk

If you contact them directly they are pretty helpful.
