To think lawnmowers etc are too bloody loud?

So today i had extended my BH weekend by booking an extra days hols. I was having a nice lie in when i was shocked awake by the blaring of lawn mowers and leaf blowers from the gardening crew company who look after communal areas where i live.

The noise is truly shocking, like a spitfire is taxing up and down the feckin road ready to dash off on a sorti. I look out and the guys are mowing and blowing whilst wearing ear defenders with their petrol engined devices.

A number of questions come to mind. Why do their crappy mows and blows make so much noise with such small engines whilst my car which is muc h much more powerful, just purrs? Also why to manufacturers of mows and blows make such horrendously crap loud machines? Thankfully my double glazing is very thick and good at blocking noise so i shut the windows and got under the quilt again..

Petrol ones especially.

They are compact so not as much room for silencers (mufflers if you are American). Car engines are hidden away under soundproofing and under bonnets (hoods). Mowers etc tend to be air cooled engines which are louder as there's no coolant surrounding the cylinders.

They are too loud though, Overdue for electric rechargeable replacements - which are slowly getting more powerful and affordable.

YANBU. Our neighbour always cuts his grass after 8pm. I dont feel like I can complain as that's still so early but he wakes the children up every time.

Yes they are
I’m beginning to not mind about lack of garden because they don’t seem to have any peace in them anyway.

Maybe I could earn extra money raking leaves, which I find therapeutic. But people seem to love their noisy garden tools.
