...to ask you to tell me what to buy for a rich person?

I'm a humble cleaner. I have a fairly wealthy client who is moving out of the area soon. She's been a great client with a nice DH and two lovely LO's under 4 yrs. On their praises and recommendations they've put a fair bit of work my way.

I want to buy them a leaving gift that's not just blatant cheap tat that won't interest them, but also something that's achievable on my modest income. And also nothing too heavy or bulky as they've got enough to cart over in the move!

Your help would be much appreciated MNers. What can I buy for them??? Do I buy individual gifts or one family gift?

HELP!

FinallyHere: Just checking that you are thinking of a card with your own handwritten message

Yes, will definitely hand write it. I might even attempt a handmade card if I get time. If not will buy a handmade card from someone on Etsy (or similar site)

If they are moving away how about a couple of local bits
Maybe some locally made sweets/a bottle or can or locally brewed beer, that sort of thing

I'd get them a lovely plant for their garden or bake them something.
Our DD recently finished nannying for a v rich family and took them a gorgeous little glass dish that looked like it cost a fortune. It was £5 in TK Maxx.

*A hanging crystal. They're always pretty and suit any decor.

The only place I’d want a hanging crystal is in the bin*

This! I love these present threads - I guess that pretty much all of the suggestions are given in good faith, but how can anyone possibly make a guess at what some random, unknowns would like.

And put the reasons why they are special.

A card and some bits for the kids to use on the flight, stickers, pencils, notepad.

A picture of the kids or you and the kids? You could use your phone and have it printed.

Depending on where they are going some UK sweets they will not be able to get, put them in a bag with a tag.

A globe for the children so they can map out where they are going, you can get them as pencil sharpeners or inflatable which won't take up much room.

On a similar theme you can get world maps where you can scratch off each country as you visi or there is this world map

Certainly a hand written card.
Maybe one associated with their current home.
NotOnTheHighStreet or Etsy have plenty of bespoke card makers who use OS map etc images to order.
You would be giving them a unique thoughtful momento - priceless.

Wonky Donkey for sure, inscribed by you.
Packs nice & neat.
Years of bedtime reading fun to come & will remind them of you.

Moving day packs a very good idea.
