Sorry it won’t let me attach photos?

I’ve got very blue eyes but I’ve always been a brunette.

It would just be so different

What's your natural hair colour? It would be quite damaging to bleach it to this level, though Olaplex would help.

It also depends on your colouring - is your skin more pinky or golden?

dollydaydream114 · 27/08/2019 18:31

It’s a stunning colour but would be a lot of work to maintain - it wouldn’t stay looking that silvery blonde for long and I think you’d need very regular visits to top up the colour. It’s gorgeous though; really striking.

Cegbee · 27/08/2019 18:59

I was considering this for a while and I'm already blonde (although dark blonde now). My hair stylist is a very good colourist and has had platinum blonde hair herself, she talked me through maintenance and while I was still tempted, it totally put me off when I thought about it. You need to get the roots done every 6 weeks at a cost of >£200 each time (London) if I did it properly and didn't want all my hair to fall out due to it being bleached to shit. So I would advise talk to someone who really knows what it entails before you take the plunge!!

If you want to do it, do it. If it doesn't suit you, you can change it. This is not an aibu

70sWitch · 27/08/2019 19:40

Looks grey to me. Are you sure it's not? Grey is weirdly fashionable atm.

fromthefloorboardsup · 27/08/2019 20:26

I really like really blonde hair but bleaching does ruin your hair even with Olaplex. Mine went so dry and straw like and tangled and it's still a struggle to get it in a nice condition even a year after I stopped bleaching it.

PlatinumBrunette · 27/08/2019 20:43

My username says do it! IF you can afford the upkeep. And if your hair - and scalp - is strong.

It takes ages though. First time I had it done the colourist used a weak bleach thinking my fine hair would break. It didn't and he had to do again. I think I was in the salon for 6 hours. Even now they've got the hang of my hair it's a good 3 or 4 hour session.

healththrowawayx · 27/08/2019 20:58

I think you should do it gradually to maintain the condition of your hair. Then won’t be such a massive overnight change so you’ll get used to having lighter hair and not be as shocked

Brunette hair means lots of upkeep, to stop the lightened hair from going brassy and to blend/bleach your dark regrowth etc.

I can’t click on the link but looking at the URL I’d like to know wtf are you looking at celebrities’ height, weight and bra sizes??

My moto is always to go blonder so whatever colour it is, do it

WorraLiberty · 27/08/2019 21:02

Definitely looks grey to me.

I’m not. I used google image and saw the photo I loved but had to link to the actual site.

My friend is a fantastic hairdresser so the cost and upkeep wouldn’t be an issue.

Based on your last post, I'd say yes.

Was just about to say, only do it if you can afford to have it done professionally, afford the upkeep, and afford Olaplex at every session (probably six weekly).

Neither is cringey wedding stories, asking what to buy a rich person or meal time snobbery. Yet these are all on the front AIBU page.

I hope in the interest of fairness that you commented/policed these threads too to inform the OP’s they did not post an AIBU.

I like it but it's not blonde. I took DD (16) to a specialist salon in Brick Lane. Amazing, tempted myself but she'd kill me

PositiveVibez · 27/08/2019 22:07

There's a website that tells you children's bra sizes are???? Sick AF and run by a man for sure.

Wonder if it has male children's dick lengths 🤔

Anyway, yanbu if you think it will suit you. Yabu to link to that horrid website.
