I am a new member of a committee at a local club. It has been difficult as we are all new members, the last committee were dismissed after a lot of discrepancies. Even the accountant was ignoring any wrong doing. For this reason we have employed part time an accountant who is helping us to see the bigger picture and iron out any errors. Tribunals and help in tax, vat etc.
My job is to cash up and bank at the week end which is on a Monday. Any money needs to be banked that day.
Of course the banks are not open today so I had already told him that I wouldn't be cashing up today and will be going in the morning. We went out for the day.
This accountant text me at 10.15am to ask why I haven't banked any money. Since then I have had 8 texts to confirm I will be there in the morning. At 8.30pm he phoned to ask about a receipt he couldn't find. Only for me to say it was stapled on to the paper work and he then said oh yes I've found it. I know he's helping but aibu to tell him he's paid a set figure but I'm a volunteer.
Just ranting on here otherwise I'll scream but and it's a big but we need his advice.
