Dry heaving

Hi all,

Just wanted some opinions really. Probably not the right place to do it so apologies in advance.

So, I have one DD(7) and a DS(1). One of the tell tale signs that I was pregnant with DS was dry heaving for the first two months.

I have repeat prescriptions for my pill which was Loestrogen? But 3 months ago when I collected from the pharmacy inside the drs, there was a note in the bag saying they had ‘run out’ of this particular contraception and replaced it with a similar one (Gedarel 20/150) and to contact my GP if I get any abnormal symptoms.

Fast forward to 2 months ago, I start feeling nauseated before my period and started dry heaving which made me panic. Took a test and negative. I emailed my GP (a new system they have introduced) and I had a reply stating that this pill shouldn’t cause nauseousness and maybe it’s a bug. They told me to come in for a pill check at the end of September.

I’m now due on my period and for the past 3/4 days have been dry heaving like there is no tomorrow. Took another pregnancy test to be on the safe side and another negative.

Surely this is this new pill making me feel like this? Has anyone ever experienced this? I’ve also put on a bit of weight and can eat like there’s no tomorrow too Blush

Anyone have or had anything similar?

Thanks

Not exactly similar, but I'm 47 and have just switched to a different HRT (tablet, not patches). I'm definitely not pregnant, as I'm single, but it's been making me feel so nauseous. I've been dry heaving every couple of days and have been sick a couple of times. I had a root around on the net yesterday and someone said make sure you take it on a full stomach - maybe try that with your pill? I haven't had mine today - I normally take it first thing so I'm going to try after tea - but no nausea so far.

As soon as you worry/ hope you might be pregnant your brain takes over and you have every psychological symptom going. A few years ago I randomly retched while brushing my teeth- now if it crosses my mind while brushing my teeth I retch again.

You're far more likely to be dry heaving cos of high hormones around your period if the test is negative

Thank you ladies.

I will definitely try it on a full stomach as have been taking them on empty.

@kitk it’s funny you say that as it happens now if I think about it too much!

Had some god awful period pains today too which don’t normally happen but will speak dr at my pill check.

Thanks again
