Can I ask your honest thoughts on this? Would you make assumptions if you found this out about someone? [Trigger Warning]

If you found out someone close to you had a history of very serious sexual abuse throughout their childhood, be honest, would it affect your perception of them? Their mental health? Their ability to work in certain jobs? Their ability to parent? Would you still be prepared to date them?

What assumptions would you make?

I would feel sad for them, compassion, as I am naturally a rescuer I'd want to protect them.
My best friend had a terrible abusive childhood, sexual physical abuse, in care, she is a very strong person.
I've noticed some of her selfish ex partners have overly questioned her, some treated her badly and used the information to control her.
She has had some battles for her honesty.
There is nothing to be ashamed of but some people use the info to shame a person. Sad
I'd be choosy who I'd trust.
