Why do some posters come on here saying just that. Every week I read "have you posted before" "I'm sure I've read this before" - why?

There are thousands of women on MN, surely there must be a first time poster going through a difficult time and someone comes on with this trite message, WTF does it matter to them.

Because after a while you spot the posters who post the exact same thing

I think it depends on context. ‘Have you posted about this before?’ can genuinely mean ‘Is this Chapter 2 of story X?’ Whereas ‘I’m sure I’ve read this before’, usually with the obligatory face, is usually troll hunting.

OK, wasn't aware of that.

Some posters do come on repeatedly hoping in vain that they'll be given the advice they want, I stead of honesty.

Because despite constant name-changes, some stories are the same as they were before.

But you're right in a way. There must be some people who post for the first time.
