Why do some posters come on here saying just that. Every week I read "have you posted before" "I'm sure I've read this before" - why?

There are thousands of women on MN, surely there must be a first time poster going through a difficult time and someone comes on with this trite message, WTF does it matter to them.

Because after a while you spot the posters who post the exact same thing

Simple

yeah - right down to minute details...

I think it depends on context. ‘Have you posted about this before?’ can genuinely mean ‘Is this Chapter 2 of story X?’ Whereas ‘I’m sure I’ve read this before’, usually with the obligatory Hmm face, is usually troll hunting.

TheWernethWife · 25/08/2019 17:47

OK, wasn't aware of that.

Some posters do come on repeatedly hoping in vain that they'll be given the advice they want, I stead of honesty.

Because despite constant name-changes, some stories are the same as they were before.

But you're right in a way. There must be some people who post for the first time.
