Just that. Or is this just an August thing - school holidays are still not over, fewer people working at this time of year and there's less 'real news' on the news (eg. House of Commons on recess)?

OP posts:

Do you not report posts? I do if I see crap happening. It's all you can do.

CellularBlanket · 25/08/2019 16:02

Yes YABU. Not noticed myself - but then I frequent property boards.

What do you expect to get from this thread OP? People to launch into another tedious and pointless debate about what you may or may not have noticed?

As PP said if you do notice it, (and it seems this is a frequent occurrence), report it and challenge it at the time. THEN we can have a debate.

Can you quote some examples? No thought not, just another GF- YAWN

I haven't noticed anything, no.

Plopplop987 · 25/08/2019 16:34

YANBU. I agree. And not just on MN, in real life too

BolloxtoGender · 25/08/2019 16:39

Yabvu

But I have noticed more of the perpetually offended woke types IRL and social media though.

YouJustDoYou · 25/08/2019 16:40

No, not noticed it one bit.

DuckWillow · 25/08/2019 16:44

I've noticed a much more intolerant society full stop. One of the joys of Brexit.

StoorieHoose · 25/08/2019 16:50

Meh. I noticed it during the Scottish Independence referendum and it's only got worse

JacquesHammer · 25/08/2019 16:51

YANBU.

Perfect example yesterday from MNHQ.

Depressing.

BertrandRussell · 25/08/2019 16:53

I think our society is getting more intolerant. Which is a shame. And actually losing something that Britain was rather good at in a quiet way.

YouWillShoutAtMeNow · 25/08/2019 16:54

I suspect that in the vein of "people who listen in to conversations never hear anything good about themselves", Some of what is labelled as racism comes under "if you go looking for it you will find it". I'm not convinced that everything labelled racism really genuinely is.

GloriousMystery · 25/08/2019 16:55

This. Hardly surprising, though definitely depressing, that it's emerging on Mn.

BertrandRussell · 25/08/2019 16:56

“I'm not convinced that everything labelled racism really genuinely is.”
Possibly not. But also, a lot of what people insist isn’t racism often is.

YouWillShoutAtMeNow · 25/08/2019 17:01

I am sure that is true Bertrand. We need to find a way of distinguishing both as a society without turning on each other.

Mamamia456 · 25/08/2019 17:03

I blame the hot weather, you know what people are like if the shops sell out of magnums.
