To think the responses to these TripAdvisor reviews are beyond rude!

None of the reviews are mine, I’ve never been to the place. A friend told me about the cafe owner’s responses to any negative reviews and I’m sat here open mouthed reading them. She alludes to reviewers having small penises, stalks their tripadvisor profile to read other reviews and slags off their photos, etc.

Like I said I’ve never been and won’t after reading these as I wouldn’t want to give my money to someone who sounds so —unhinged— nasty. Can’t believe someone who runs a business has so little idea about customer service.

TruthOnTrial Like most people I have a limited amount of time to spend on holiday and a certain budget. I would prefer spending the time and money in places where I don't get abused and the weather isn't shit.
During this "holiday" in the middle of July it poured down everyday.

If I don't like a place on holiday then I will write off the whole country or in this case county. I am not going to go back year after year trying to find a place to eat. I would rather spend my precious holiday time on places I know will be hot, sunny and not make a huge deal over our dietary requirements.

As for seeing the beauty of the place. I have been 3 times over the years. This particular time i didn't want to go but was talked into it by friends who assured me it would not rain and they serve vegetarian. It poured down everyday and was clouded in fog so much so that someone nearly killed themselves by not seeing the road and driving off one of the cliff top roads.

Even they were shocked at the attitude of we got when we went out to eat

They might have been shocked even but your tone is one of nastiness to whole swathes of the world, purely based on your experience of one holiday.

Noone said you should go anywhere you dont want to, you have missed the point that both myself, and you, were making. That the whole of any given area is shit and to be avoided because of a few bad experiences with particular establishments.

Now you've added in the weather in one particular place, but, again, that wasn't your point, or mine.

I'm just saying you are being discriminating because you are wiping out whole swathes of communities based on your limited experience.

Your experience was horrible, and I wouldn't be happy about that either. It wasnt about your experience either, it was in response to your attitude, like I said already.

Not just one holiday but 3.

If you do something and you get the same negative response why would you keep on doing it.

I had gone twice to this area and had the same nasty responses and terrible weather.
Friends persuaded me things had changed and I got the same response and the same weather

I have a few days to go on holiday would I choose a place where every time I have been I have had a horrible time or go abroad to Italy, Spain or the US where they have vegetarian menus or are quite happy to make something up other than chips.

I know so many Cornish vegetarians! They don't live in/come from touristy areas though so maybe it varies a lot.

Olivers I live in Suffolk. We went to a small village pub the other day. There were three veggie and two vegan options. We have one veggie pub near by and my town has two vegan cafes.
Sorry to burst your London bubble but out here in the sticks veggies and vegans are catered for.

An Italian restaurant local to us (London zone 2) responded to critical reviews this way. It struggled on for a few years with some loyal locals and walk ins but its shut down now. That is what will happen and she'll blame the B word!

Lols, well the Cornish don't control the weather sadly. It's 33C here today will that do anyone? Probably too hot... don't come to Derbyshire either, I had my heating on in June. I'm used to warmer climes 😂

I find it a very strange attitude in general when people say I didn't like this restaurant and the weather was poor so the whole place must be a shit hole. We ate in a gorgeous place in Cornwall recently. Myself, my vegan friend and my meat eating parents were very well catered for, the chef came and checked some vegan stuff as well to get it right.

Whole place is trash though 🤷🏻‍♀️

One less person clogging up the roads 👍🏻

I’ve been to Cornwall loads of times, usually had good weather, we aren’t veggie or vegan although we often eat veggie/vegan and have never noted a dearth of food options, also gluten free. Never had a problem with the local people either. No one’s ever been horrible to us.

Probably down to the way I look then.
People are regularly horrible to me.

Friends are shocked when we go shopping at the attitude I can invoke from shop assistants.

I think things have probably changed in the last 15 years but still won't be returning
