Aibu in my annoyance at drivers who hold up traffic instead of using mini roundabouts near junctions?

Hope i explain this correctly.

There are a few minor roads I use each day to get onto a main road where I find I am sitting in traffic for a good 5 minutes at times for, what I think, is no good reason.

Cars at the front wanting to turn right onto the main road are sitting ages on both sides of road being clear so they can do their manoeuvre. However, no less than 30 feet away to the left is a mini roundabout.

Why don't these drivers just turn left (plenty of gaps to do so quickly) and use the mini roundabout to go in their target direction?

It's not big lorries or buses or 4x4s. Normal cars that have plenty of space to do this.

Okay. So imagine annoying driver being in red car wanting to turn right. Blue car side of road really busy so red car has tk wait ages. Lots of gaps on green car's side of the road. Mini roundabout just behind blue car, less than 30 feet from red car to the left.

Why doesn't red car just quickly turn left and use the roundabout to get behind blue car?

I hear you.

There are some roads near me where it's easier to turn left and then turn right onto a side road before rejoining the main road rather than waiting for a gap to cross the main road.

You want them to do a u turn on a mini roundabout?
I think that's not advised in the highway code. And it's very tricky to do in some vehicles..

Mini-roundabouts. Approach these in the same way as normal roundabouts. All vehicles MUST pass round the central markings except large vehicles which are physically incapable of doing so. Remember, there is less space to manoeuvre and less time to signal. Avoid making U-turns at mini-roundabouts. Beware of others doing this.

Because the highway code discourages U-turns on mini roundabouts. They aren't illegal but it's against good driving practice. They're probably just drivers obeying the highway code 🤷🏻‍♀️

Interesting about the U turn/mini roundabout discouragement. Didn't know about that.

Personally for some reason i would feel a bit of a dick if i made a habit of this regularly. Don't know why. It would just feel wrong. I think it might cock up the traffic flow at the mini r.

There is one right hand turn in a town near me where, if i've really waited for ages, i will turn left instead and go down to the round about and come back up. But it's a big roundabout - tree in the middle and flowerbeds sort. And this is about twice a year max.
