Just one breast, I took it out to defrost on Tuesday. I'm dithering...

I wouldn't.

M3lon · 23/08/2019 16:27

Are you mad?!?! Under NO circumstances should you steam it while it up your vagina!

SiberianCake · 23/08/2019 16:28

Chuck it in the rubbish. You'll get sick if you defrosted it and didn't cook/eat it on the same day.

Sayhellotothethings · 23/08/2019 16:34

I've done this before and it's been totally fine.

dementedpixie · 23/08/2019 16:36

You're supposed to eat within 24 hours once defrosted

RavenLG · 23/08/2019 16:38

I defrost chicken a day in advance every single time I defrost it. Never had food poisoning. Give it a smell, off chicken is VERY pungent.

dementedpixie · 23/08/2019 16:40

It's not a day in advance though. It was taken out 3 days ago

RainOrSun · 23/08/2019 16:41

If it was fresh, and way off its bbe date before going into the freezer, and has been in the fridge since tuesday, I'd eat it, assuming it smelt right.
If it was close to its best before date, or has been defrosting on the side, I'd bin it.

AmIThough · 23/08/2019 16:41

If it doesn't smell I'd cook it. Just make sure it's cooked through.

ChangingMyNameFromMUUUUUMMMM · 23/08/2019 16:54

If it smells fine I would cook it and eat it. Provided it is definitely piping hot though.

InvisibleWomenMustBeRead · 23/08/2019 16:55

Im another who would do the smell test - if it doesn't smell off then I'd cook and eat it (& have done many times and never got food poisoning).

SpamChaudFroid · 23/08/2019 16:56

Oh no, reasoned arguments on both sides, I was hoping for a unanimous "bin that fucker". Will try sniff test, (I have almost no sense of smell though 😂)

It smells fine! I do have a strong stomach, I grew up on food that would sometimes be festering and simmering for days 😂

If it's been in the fridge and doesn't smell bad, I'd go for it.
