Why aren't governments planting more trees? Or promoting the planting of more trees?

Why isn't everyone who has space getting behind tree planting?

Obviously lots of other measures need to be imposed or adhered too but it just seems such a simple win.

The best thing to do is for governments to rein in the deforestation that’s occuring worldwide. That’s the easiest win as it leaves the carbon stocks intact. Growing and nurturing trees to survive is not a quick process. We also need to vote with our money so that sustainable products become the norm not a luxury for those who can afford it.

There are some fantastic efforts going on in India and Africa re tree planting supported by their governments. I believe it was Ethiopia that just broke the record for most trees planted in 24 hours. It was billions!

The Amazon fires are just the tip of wildfire this year - Siberia/the arctic circle has had more than ever before.

I'm off to protest outside the Brazilian Embassy.

They reported 350 million. Sadly there are lots of questions about whether it's real number or not. They do plan to plant over 3 billion before end of October. Even if real numbers are lower, it's still an amazing thing to do!
