To think MTV’s new show “Ghosted” promotes stalking

I’m absolutely horrified by the concept of this show. Imagine cutting contact with someone for your own personal safety and then an MTV crew tracking you down showing up with that person. What are they thinking?!

Not only is this incredibly dangerous, toxic, and enabling to potential predators, but it will also embolden future "ghosted" people to seek out and confront their "ghosts."

If you're the kind of person who tracks down someone that ghosted you, you're the reason people feel the need to ghost to protect themselves in the first place.

Yanbu. I have not heard of this show but from what you describe I think it could be very awkward and weird at best to scary at worst. If someone I ghosted tracked me down, I would be terrified. I have a family and kids now, I don't want an ex to try to find me that's so weird.

I literally just saw a commercial for this show about 10 minutes ago. I hadn't considered your POV, that could be a concern. I would hope that they vet the participants (check to see if they have restraining orders againdt them, etc.) well, but I don't know. And even then, it's not 100% that the person is nice and not a freaky stalker.

The more I think about it, the worse an idea it seems.

I also know that the particularly disturbing ones where the woman had VERY good reasons for ghosting will just not be aired, and they’ll only air the fluffy ones, so they’ll be causing a lot of trauma to women by “tracking them down” but they just won’t air it.
