Coming off of Sertraline

I've been on Sertraline, starting at 25mg and going up to 200mg over the space of 3 years. I feel it's time come off now and I know that I need to come off very slowly to avoid any withdrawal symptoms.

Anyone with any experience? My plan is this;

175mg for a week
150mg for a week
125mg for a week
100mg for a week
75mg for a week
50mg for a week
25mg for a week
Then 25mg every other day for a week
Then 25mg every 3 days for a week or 2
Then stop completely.

Does this sound gradual enough? Or would it be better to drop the dose for 2 weeks at a time instead of one?

(I will speak to my doctor when I can eventually get an appointment!)

In principle that sounds fine to me (caveat - I'm not a doctor but I do lecture in this stuff).
When you get to the 25mg though, after the week on it every day, I'd be inclined perhaps to make it a two week cycle, and add in a period of 25mg for two days then a day off, and repeat for two weeks, before you go on to the alternating days.

And obviously if at any point you feel like you are suffering withdrawal symptoms - because everybody's reactions will be different - then take another tablet, and go to a two week cycle overall.

Thank you for your reply! I think you're right with making the 25mg longer. The research I'm doing all says that the lower the dose, the worse the withdrawals can be.
