Huge spider in my room and I am terrified AF :(

This is so upsetting. I walked into my room and there was a huge spider on the floor. Tried facing fear and trapping it under a pint glass, but the glass didn't fit and touched one of its legs and it ran under my TV cabinet. DH is working nights and won't be home until dawn.

I'm now barricaded in my spare room with my dog and I'm absolutely terrified. I know I'm pathetic, but I have a serious spider phobia and thi one is so big. I feel icky and have a constant sensation of things crawling all over me. How do I get through the night? Sad

Try peppermint sprays and oils, you need to mask the scent of the females in the house.

I have a severe phobia of spiders but for some reason when I’m alone or the only adult in the room my murderous instincts come out. The best way to get rid of huge spiders is to douse them with Dettox until they can’t move and then use a bowl / paper to take them outside. Dettox doesn’t tend to kill them just stun them - when they’re dry they will wonder off. An alternative is to get a cat and let is hunt them for extra protein.

they are totally harmless. These giant house spiders, they are docile and pose absolutely no threat to humans. They dont bite even if handled. They prefer to escape. I know they can look alarming because of their size. Cats are usually good at getting them. Have you considered getting a cat

@Branleuse

That's not how phobias work.

Being single and all my kids having a kind heart bless em, I had to learn to catch them in a glass and put them outside...Took me a long time... casualties along the way included many glasses and spiders...

well I know that, but you cant kill everything youre frightened of or live life in this much fear. I thought a cat was a good suggestion. Then you would probably see far fewer

Most things im frightened of dont turn up in the house without warning on a regular basis Envy
