So excited

*Ugh, neither - I would go for the crustiest artisan bread, mussels and shrimp swimming in the most beautiful garlicky butter, drizzled with olive oil and just a dusting of paprika! What could be lovelier?’

Please tell me that you are the most convincing troll on here? There is no way that anyone in real life could say something this wanky with a straight face...*

That poster was taking the piss out of a previous poster. But it's only a slight exaggeration!

*This entire thread has perplexed me..... takeaway pizza at LUNCH? WTAF. Are you coming off a night shift? At least you went for dominos, home delivery McDs isn’t a thing even though Uber is trying to make it a thing, like they are trying to take over the rest of our lives.

Anyway, it’s all done and dusted even though it broke all the laws of nature. I am more more interested now in what you had for dinner?*

It's definitely a thing around here (Wimbledon) and it's hot and delicious.

Yeah takeaway pizza at lunchtime!! Wooooo!!!!

Nothing for dinner on account of the massive lunch. Balance.

By the way to this interested, I also order pineapple in my Nando's pitta.

OP posts:
Skyejuly · 22/08/2019 08:03

Yes to pineapple!

KatherineJaneway · 22/08/2019 08:07

It definitely is a thing where I live! Very helpful when you are too ill to go out and need some comfort food.

TheLime · 22/08/2019 08:25

Well yes it’s a thing that exists.

But it’s not a thing as in a thing we should all accept and embrace as permissible and OK and part of the fabric of our society. We have to draw the line somewhere.

When I take a break from visiting the fishmonger to source my prawns and the bread bakers to commission an artisan loaf to visit McDonalds the whole front section is now taken up with loitering Uber drivers waiting for an order. Annoying.

uppershopping · 22/08/2019 08:35

Haha how is it annoying?

Well today's cuisine isn't looking much better! We are having lunch at soft play Grin

Dominos, all day long.

It’s as delicious cold as hot. I’m not a massive fan of McDonald’s unless it’s 3am and I’m too drunk to care.

StillCoughingandLaughing · 22/08/2019 08:53

This is the problem with skim-reading. If you’d have read the first half of the post, you would have seen it was a pisstake.

Why does the OP need to justify it? She’s an adult treating herself when she has the day to herself.

And if you can order McDonald’s for home delivery, or is, by definition, ‘a thing’?

TheLime · 22/08/2019 09:23

If you’re going to do something as egregious as a order a takeaway pizza for LUNCH (yes the caps are necessary) on a Wednesday that’s not even a religious festival than hell YES you have to justify it. Otherwise what next? Recording This Morning and watching it on a Saturday night whilst drinking creme de menthe? Some things just aren’t OK Brenda.

StillCoughingandLaughing · 22/08/2019 10:08

I think ‘egregious’ was the point when I spotted the hairy knuckles Grin

VivaLeBeaver · 22/08/2019 10:11

Can I have a Five Guys instead of a McDonalds?

Don't like pizza for lunch, it's an evening thing.

Sparklingbrook · 22/08/2019 10:57

DS1 took me to Five Guys. I was expecting more as it was very expensive. We were in there about 20 minutes.

uppershopping · 22/08/2019 12:22

Some things just aren’t OK Brenda.

Using a stereotypically middle-class middle-aged female name as an insult is actually not ok.

I know this is probably totally off stick but I live in the country and am genuinely interested - Deliveroo or whoever delivers random food and stuff - do they charge for delivery and if so how much? Like if you order McDonalds how much would delivery be? And how long would it take to arrive?

uppershopping · 23/08/2019 05:59

My maccas costs £3.5 to be delivered in ten minutes

OP posts:
Mummadeeze · 23/08/2019 06:09

Home alone, I would genuinely have my favourite lunch - smoked mackerel, spelt and sweet chilli hummus with raw cashew nuts. Am aware I also sound like a pretentious wanker, troll type but I am just getting old! McDonalds and Dominoes only tasted nice when I was young and had a perpetual hangover!

uppershopping · 23/08/2019 06:10

Spelt? Fucking spelt.

Delivery costs £3.50 but Uber Eats do send me quite a few free delivery code offers. McDonalds only takes about 15 - 20 minutes to arrive as I have one reasonably close. You track the driver on the app so you know where your food is.

uppershopping · 23/08/2019 13:13

Are we all just going to ignore the spelt comment?

OP posts:
Mammyloveswine · 23/08/2019 13:20

I prefer Burger King but with macdonalds chicken selects so id have to order bacon double xl cheeseburger meal from bk AND 5 chicken selects, cheesey bites and a milkshake from Maccas.

I'd also be really bad and have a bottle of wine over the afternoon..

My fave memory is when we had ofsted at school and had been so stressed for months in the build up. The day after they came dh was working away (it was before we had the kids). So I pulled my duvet downstairs, ordered takeaway and had a bottle of wine whilst binge watching American horror story. I also bought loads of crisps and snacks etc! Was one of the most enjoyable day of my life Grin

ElizaDee · 23/08/2019 13:25

That's a standard weekend in my house Blush

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 23/08/2019 17:56

Sounds completely fabulous mammyloveswine Grin

I can't bring myself to comment on the spelt abomination, OP. I'll just try and be the better person and pray for that poster, that they see the error of their ways before someone gets hurt.

We went out for brunch at The Breakfast Club today and (partly inspired by this thread) I had a bacon, fried egg, cheese and hash brown sandwich. I had to have a little lie down after.
