So excited

OP posts:
hooraysuperworm · 21/08/2019 12:01

On my own today as DD (9 months) at settling in day at nursery. Have cleaned the house top to bottom and now actually sitting still and watching tv 😃

In your situation I’d go Dominos. No deliveries here though so I’ve bought things to make nachos soon....

P1nkHeartLovesCake · 21/08/2019 12:01

Only a small pizza, you are not a pro at this are you! You need a medium at least for afternoon cold pizza snacking and the cookies!

I would of gone McDonald’s because I really want to try the double quarter pounder 🤤 with large chips and strawberry milkshake.

I love threads like these
OP, what fast food take away do I want
There is always the none as I don’t like take aways, go to Asda pizza counter, go to M&S for mussels type comments 😂😂

uppershopping · 21/08/2019 12:33

Getting the small pizza is a pro move. I can eat my pizza and not get fat. Win win.

Fucking mussels. I mean...

OP posts:
Aprillygirl · 21/08/2019 12:38

Omg I really fancy a big mac and fries now! Your pizza sounds vile OP. Hope you enjoy it though Smile

browzingss · 21/08/2019 12:40

I’m late, but definitely dominos

thatmustbenigelwiththebrie · 21/08/2019 12:47

I have lots of days alone (sob!) so if I ordered that every time I had one I'd be a massive blob.

However, I'd go for Dominoes.

zukiecat · 21/08/2019 13:04

McDonalds for me!

Chicken Selects meal with a side order of the new Spicy Nuggets.

Not a big fan of pizza

YahBasic · 21/08/2019 13:21

Medium BBQ chicken pizza with pineapple & a side is my standard order to stretch it over two meals.

Maccies order is cheeseburger happy meal with 6 nuggets and mini McFlurry. Hangover Maccies is a medium Quarter Pounder meal with 3 chicken selects and a McFlurry but eaten over about 6 hours 😂

ElizaDee · 21/08/2019 13:37

I ate a big mac and medium chips and 6 nuggets and medium chips the other day. over about 10 minutes. I hadn't eaten all day though.

The double quarter pounder isn't all that. It's exactly the same but with 2 burgers. Imo it needs double the sauce and onions.

I always used to get a chicken sandwich meal with sprite. Then I used to get a nugget happy meal and a double cheeseburger with one for later. The microwave well.

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 21/08/2019 13:45

OMG this thread. WHY did I read this on a fast day???

I'd probably go for McD's if I was on my own. Double quarter-pounder with cheese, chocolate milkshake, large fries.

Love Dominoes as well though (hence need for fast days). Would be stuffed-crust pepperoni with mushrooms and olives, plus chicken strippers, bbq sauce and cookies.

Mussels and crusty bread? Bloody hell. I love mussels but that answer on a dirty food thread is the reason MN has such a bad name, imo.

Eh? Food doesn't have to be massively calorific and unhealthy to be indulgent and with mussels and bread, you have lots of lovely bread, and probably a wine and butter sauce and no veg, so it's hardly health food anyway.

BarbaraofSeville · 21/08/2019 13:58

I see prawns aren't considered sufficiently indulgent either.

Prawns are expensive, especially the big ones. What could be more of a treat than a large portion of king prawns all to yourself cooked in a lovely garlicky paprika oil, with good bread to dip in?

NerrSnerr · 21/08/2019 14:04

But the OP wasn't asking about seafood she could treat herself with. She was asking whether we would choose a McDonalds or a Dominoes as that's what she fancied.

lazylinguist · 21/08/2019 14:08

To defend the mussels thing... the OP days it's a day on her own, and lots of people might use that as an opportunity to eat food they love that their fussy dc (and maybe dh!) wouldn't eat.

speakout · 21/08/2019 14:10

Yes! my seafood meal would be pretty unhealthy.

Prawns swimming in butter, or mussels cooked in a cream sauce, plenty of (white) crusty bread to soak up the juices, washed down with plenty chilled Pinot Grigio.

Probably more veg on a pizza.

Why does treating yourself to enjoyable food have to entail something from a fast food restaurant?

AuditAngel · 21/08/2019 14:12

Currently on holiday. We have a big meal out planned for tonight. DC have gone to Nonna for pasta, all the other adults have gone to a fish bar at the beach (I hate fish), debating if i’ll have a toastier and wedges or something else. Need to go soon though.

BarbaraofSeville · 21/08/2019 14:16

But the question was 'you have a day alone, what do you order'.

Seeing as very few would be in the unfortunate position of being able to please themselves and themselves alone, but the only choice available being Domino's or McDonalds, surely it is allowed to say that you wouldn't want either, if you don't see those choices as a treat?

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 21/08/2019 14:16

Why does treating yourself to enjoyable food have to entail something from a fast food restaurant?

The OP asked whether she should have BURGERS or PIZZA, not whether she should treat herself to some delicious, expensive prawns smothered in butter ffs.

MNers are so bloody obtuse sometimes, it does my head in.

NerrSnerr · 21/08/2019 14:22

She said 'why would you order? Dominoes or Maccas?' Is that so difficult to understand?

Yeahnahmum · 21/08/2019 14:22

Dominos is such desperate hangover trash food. Same goes for macdonalds.

Neither would be a good choice especially for lunch. Envy (not envy)

Or you know, eat something descent!!

ElizaDee · 21/08/2019 14:28

Why does treating yourself to enjoyable food have to entail something from a fast food restaurant?

Because this is a thread about dirty pig out food, with the choices being pizza or mcd's, not the most delicious treat you can find.

RedForShort · 21/08/2019 14:32

I feel in a quandary. I don't like Domino's pizza, so would opt for McDonald's (aka Maccie Ds, Maccas etc), but seeing it's a delivery and I can't imagine McDonald's travels well (I think it's programmed to go cold as soon as you leave the building).

Rockbird · 21/08/2019 14:33

I had a double quarter pounder with cheese yesterday and it was the bloody loveliest thing I've eaten in ages! I've skipped to the end but if you haven't ordered already then go with that.

Jebuschristchocolatebar · 21/08/2019 14:34

I’m going to throw a spanner in the works here and mention a bacon double cheese burger meal from
Burger King.

TrendyNorthLondonTeen · 21/08/2019 14:37

I love these threads.

OP: I can't decide between ordering x or y What do you all think?
Poster 1: ugh they're both disgusting. You should go to the small, independent food truck that EVERY town surely has baking artisanal bread and slaughtering their own cattle for beef.
Poster 2: How frightfully common. I'd get something with crusty bread (it's always fucking crusty bread) from M&S or Waitrose.
Poster 3: I wouldn't know as I only order take away when Halley's Comet is visible. Is Wimpy still open?
Poster 4: People order take away for just THEMSELVES??? Confused How ODD.
Poster 5: My treat is a like of an ice cube and a thimble of quinoa and I'm stuffed. Are you overweight OP?
Etc etc.

Btw the answer is always domino's.
