My next door neighbour is absolutely amazing, bat shit crazy but amazing!
She’s 89, and looks like the sweetest old lady. The first day we moved in to the street (5 years ago) she came over with a homemade cake to welcome us. Took one look at my stomach and said “are you expecting my dear or are you just fond of cake” Both was the answer given and I decided I loved her right then and there.
She has came out with some absolute corkers over the years but she genuinely does not mean to cause any harm (apart from when she told me I should make newborn baby dd2 wear a hat “because her head is a peculiar shape” I could have throttled her then 😤
Me and dp are planning our wedding and she had overhead is chatting in the back garden. She came around today no preamble and as soon as I opened the door said “I’ve bought my hat for your wedding so that’s one less thing for you to worry about” Absolute genius way of scoring an invite. For what it’s worth we were always going to invite her anyway, but I absolutely love the brass neck of the woman.
Cannot wait for her to try and jump in the bridal car with me as we are all going to the same place!!
