To hate crafting!

Am staying at my Mums house. She set up a craft project for DD and DS involving paint and marbles. You roll the marbles through paint in a big box and hey presto a Jackson Pollock appears. Great fun, but why is there now paint everywhere?!?!?! Honestly, DS even managed to get it on his teeth. I'm covered in it too and I just spent 15 scrubbing the marbles clean again.

Sounds like great fun to me. I’d have loved that when I was a kid and your mum sounds brilliant. Who cares if your kids get a bit grubby? Children aren’t dry-clean only.

Also, as you’re staying at your mum’s house it’s not like you had to worry about your carpets or anything.

I hate crafting too, not just because of the mess (I'm fine with mess with other stuff but craft mess seems so much more annoying). I am not creative, I'm dyslexic so everything I do turns out shit and I struggle to help the kids do simple stuff like hold scissors right because I my brain just doesn't work like that.
Craft makes me grumpy.

I worry more about my Mums carpets then my own!

I'm ok with mess with things like food, or toys even mud and sand.

Paint, glitter and play doh however do my head in!!

I don’t have a creative bone in my body and hated having to do crafty things with my kids. Lucky for me my boys take after me and after a few attempts at potatoe printing they made it clear they would rather get the train set out.

Bah. No mess of any kind is allowed in my house.

I hate crafting too. I love imaginative play. DD is the opposite and is happy to break out the glue and paint and has no idea how I can play at paw patrol or zoos etc for hours with DGC. I hate clearing up mess but it sounds like your DM is quite content. I’d be glad it’s not in your house and let her crack on,.

I’m also absolutely crap at anything crafty which also doesn’t give me any motivation
