Cracked screen on Fitbit Charge 3

Darnoc5421 · 19/08/2019 20:42

I bought a FitBit Charge 3 together with tech added care less than 2 months ago from John Lewis.

After charging the FitBit I noticed a crack in the screen. I contacted the warranty people to see what they could do to assist me but they told me it was just cosmetic damage and the crack is not covered by the warranty.

I wasn't happy with this because I know the crack wasn't caused by dropping or banging the tracker so I contacted FitBit direct. All they offered me was a discount on my next FitBit product! As if I want to buy another product from FitBit when the first item has cracked for no apparent reason.

I really think my tracker is defective and feel that I should be sent a replacement product.

Has anyone had a similar experience with a FitBit tracker?

My strap broke and I got a replacement as they are under warranty for 2 years

That happened to me and they offered a discount so I said that wasn’t acceptable as it was obviously faulty and how could I escalate my concerns. They sent me a new free one.

Yep, had 2 charge 2’s and the screen cracked on both of them. They replaced the first one under warranty but seem to have changed their stance now. The second time I was out of warranty but got 40% off an ionic which is much better than the charge 2.

They're shit

I have found Fitbit customer service to be exemplary.

My first one developed a problem in that it wouldn't charge. After unsuccessful attempts to sort the issue, they sent me a new one.

Not sure if a crack would justify that though.

Definitely tell them you are not happy to be offered a discount. I wroyebavrespnsebthsgbirvwas a Christmas gift that had lasted 5 months despite care being taken not to damage it. I said I certainly thought it was faulty if it took less than 6 months to break and I got a new one sent out.

They only offered a discount? I had missing pixels on my screen display and FitBit gave me a choice of either a replacement part (literally just the central watch bit not the straps or anything) or a discount of another Fitbit product. I would go back to them and ask for a replacement.

It was just the middle bit I got as a replacement. I just put the strap I had onto it.
