So my husbands best man posted a gif of him and a mystery girl sharing spaghetti lady and the tramp style. I got all excited as he’s been single forever and messaged him right away to find out details. Turns out was other best man’s new fiancé. I forgot they were visiting him! I am mortified I didn’t recognise her. I’m mortified they know this. Any help for my reply 🙈

I'm awful at recognising faces so I get why you're embarrassed, OP. I agree with the advice to laugh it off as best you can.

A friend came round one day and commented on how sweet baby DD looked in a photo on display then said "who's that holding her?" It was me!! I was baffled but did not take offence....

I think most people don’t really understand the ‘joke’ of not recognising someone in a photo, or why the OP is so beside herself with mirth that she didn’t recognise someone in a photo.

Yes the story is a bit of a non event, IMO. But maybe there was additional contact / colour to the comments, or maybe OP isnt used to getting something wrong in a public forum and get friends are ribbing her for not recognising the new fiancée

For info the reason I'm posting this is because I've had enough of these crappy comments on MN threads, they don't add anything and I'm calling the pdsters out as bitches. Bringing a nasty person down a peg or two will make me feel better. That's my motivation. What's yours?

Is it just the case that the OP didn't recognise the woman as best man 1's fiancee even though she has met her? If so then OK, I get it, it's quite funny.

But how I read it is that one man (best man 1) has been sharing spaghetti in a romantic way with another man (best man 2)'s fiancee.

i.e. best man 2's fiancee is cheating or at least flirting with best man 1.

If I'm wrong then fine. I'd just like to know either way, rather than you just assuming I've no sense of humour.
