To think giving a young child have a cold shower as a punishment isn't acceptable

InkedGreen · 19/08/2019 10:23

The SJs have said they give their children cold showers as a punishment, and there's evidence to suggest this has been going on for years (in video I'll post below). All the 2 year old did was take out poo from her nappy when she was in her cot. Isn't this expected if she's potty training and is uncomfortable in bed?

They've deleted the video (a copy is below) and said it wasn't cold and just lukewarm and deleted and blocked anyone that questions them.

Is this a normal punishment for anyone else? Lots of their fans are thanking them for a good idea!?

@namechanged84 I watched the 'all the trolls are mean and sick' video. It was really weird and creepy.

And if the police officers were so deeply traumatised by a routine child welfare check, they are probably in the wrong job.

Apparently the husband made a joke about rape, but it was ok because his wife said it was funny? Then he denied ever talking about punishing their children. So that cold shower video was someone else was it?

Star801 · 19/08/2019 12:24

I don’t have Instagram or YouTube so I don’t know who they are but that is awful. So cruel Sad

NameChange84 · 19/08/2019 12:31

Yes. My mouth fell open at that comment. My friends who work in the uniformed services have witnessed far, far worse and not been traumatised.

It’s the only video I’d ever seen of them until today. I’d believed they were a victim of a jealous stalker up until the bit about the police officers being SO traumatised.

HotelRoomforOne · 19/08/2019 12:58

The cold shower is outright child abuse and wrong in every way.

The fact that these young children are having such sensitive, personal information about their lives broadcast daily on the internet by their own parents is so deeply disturbing. I cannot believe this is allowed. These children have not consented. Imagine the realisation that your literal shit is all over the internet, forever, and you never even knew your parents were putting it out there. Who or what will stop this pair and others like them? They need to be fully investigated by child protection and the police.

Cokezeroisyummy · 19/08/2019 13:01

The poor kids having their every action reported by their parents online, I don't think it's right or fair. The cold shower sounds horrible, I have a child the same age and I'd hate for someone to give them a cold shower, just mean and unnecessary

HalfDeadHousePlant · 19/08/2019 13:02

What happened to the last thread about this? Is it still available?

summersherewishiwasnt · 19/08/2019 13:07

Don’t follow them then. Gahh all this influencing malarkey is one of the downsides of the internet.
Narcissistic people all shouting look at me look at me.... and sheep follow ! And copy! What t.f

summersherewishiwasnt · 19/08/2019 13:12

Publishing a child’s life is unethical imo. Poor kid growing up with anyone and his dog watching their life like a soap opera. If people didn’t watch this type of thing. Kids could get on with living a private life.

PestoCaffeinisto · 19/08/2019 13:14

This blogger is quite eloquent on the subject and is not afraid to speak out
here

Do you really think the parents wouldn’t try to make money using the kids another way? Before the four lids, they used dogs to get attention.

CecilyP · 19/08/2019 13:17

Well I didn't know that, I've followed them for years on Instagram but have deleted now after hearing this. That's a horrid thing to do to a young child who doesn't understand they've been bad. Poor little girl

The child hasn't been bad - not in any way. The parents are neglectful to have left the child in a soiled nappy long enough for her to want to remove the contents. That is even before their disgusting abusive behaviour.

MabelMoo23 · 19/08/2019 13:24

They are absolutely vile, and fully deserve to be investigated by social services. And the Dad being crowned celebrity dad of the year, unbelievable

Doyoureallyneedtoask · 19/08/2019 13:24

Can you even imagine your reaction if you found out your childminder or child’s nursery was doing this to your child?

FireBloodAndIce · 19/08/2019 13:30

No not normal behaviour, imo. We've had cool (only slightly warm) showers together in summer when nappy rash was an issue, but cold and for punishing is out of order. If they can't think of anything else maybe they should try asking actual experts for ideas.

It doesn't surprise me some fans would fawn though, I've seen it a few times in different fandoms when obsession takes over sense.

sue51 · 19/08/2019 13:35

It sounds like a punishment metered out by a dickensian orphanage. Outrageous and cruel.

MabelMoo23 · 19/08/2019 13:39

And Mumsnet please don’t even think about deleting this thread. Everyone has a responsibility to call out harmful behaviour, just because they are instawankers doesn’t mean they are exempt!!!!!

nipersvest · 19/08/2019 13:46

I will be disgusted if Mumsnet delete this thread and shut down discussions about this. No-one has made this up, the family posted it on You tube themselves, admitting to having given a 2 year old a cold shower as punishment. They've deleted the segment in question but now, other references to them using cold showers are surfacing in older footage.

Countrygirl38 · 19/08/2019 13:51

I have no idea who these people are but as far as I am concerned that is child abuse.

HotelRoomforOne · 19/08/2019 13:54

Spread the word on you social media's and get these creeps unfollowed and unsubscribed. If their numbers drop low enough the exploitation of their kids will no longer be profitable, and the kids might get some privacy and freedom back. For now they are unwittingly stuck in this Truman show style farce. This is the stuff nightmares are made of. Get your little kids of the internet Saccone Jolys, what you are doing is so irresponsible.

Maybe2020 · 19/08/2019 14:11

Disgusting.
How anyone can justify it is beyond me.
I saw a video on Facebook of another lady doing the exact same thing to her adopted child think he was about 6 and did bad at school and she made him stand in a freezing cold shower the poor mite was screaming I had to turn it off.
Why would anyone want to cause their own child any pain?
And this is coming from someone who was smacked as a child, even though I have grown up pretty well mannered and have good morals and would never talk back to my parents, I don’t see myself ever hitting my own children when I have them. Or causing any harm to them.

SlothMama · 19/08/2019 14:49

This is abuse, the child is 2 years old what do they expect? These two are horrible creatures and I wish they would go back to being nobodies.

Bowsy5 · 19/08/2019 15:07

Where do these people live? At times I thought a hint of an American accent, at times, an Irish accent. Are they in the UK?

It's abuse pure and simple. The child shouldn't be left in a soiled nappy long enough to have to clean herself. Twunts.

Doyoureallyneedtoask · 19/08/2019 15:12

They are Irish living in the UK. The accents are pseudo American. Neither of them are American.

I followed them at one point when I was on maternity leave and she was pregnant at the same time.! I used look at her maternity wear fashion.

Barkybarkynutnut · 19/08/2019 15:14

Really heartened to read Fern Olivia s blog on this!
