Anyone feel guilty about having an only child??

There is a lovely thread over on the one-child families board called something like "Tell me the good things about having one child" - it's an old thread but there are loads of great posts on there, and the OP came back and updated it years later saying she was so happy with how things had worked out with her one child family. It's worth a look.

I agree with so many of the only children on this thread though, it annoys me when whatever type of character an "only" child is, it's often made out to be because they're an only child - when in fact they're just a kid like any other.

The "lonely only" thing has been totally debunked as well. There shouldn't be any need for anyone to justify their decision/situation re having one child.

Same here FrowningFlamingo. Things just work out that way sometimes. My son always had plenty of friends, still does, and is great fun to be with.
