Neighbour’s kids house party in garden next door

It's nearly midnight, his parents are away and they are all, maybe 15 - 20 of them, singing extremely loud in the garden. I have a 3 month old and can't sleep. Tried texting him to ask him to tone it down but no response. WWYD ? They don't normally have form for this but also didn't tell us he was hosting a party.

@FannyGall0ps - why the duck should I suck their selfish dickhead drunken screeching up ?!? Houses are v old, walls v thick - Party is in the garden. If they took it inside, I wouldn't hear them !

No I'm not cool with selfish fuckers inflicting themselves on the general public, I'm wide awake now. Obviously I've stumbled on the cool mums here in this chat !

If it's a one of then let them have fun grin and bear it for one night if it's all the time then yea complain.

MissEliza · 18/08/2019 00:28

You should not have to take that. If my kids did that when I wasn't around, I'd thank you for dealing with and apologise profoundly. Knock on the door and if no joy call 101.

Itsyersel · 18/08/2019 00:30

OP

bet you're fun at parties... oh wait...

SteamedPotatoes · 18/08/2019 00:32

@Itsyersel the life & soul... Just not when I'm already sleep deprived and a bunch of wanky 20 year olds decide to party like its 2015 on the cheap next door.

Chocolate35 · 18/08/2019 00:34

I’d suck it up for one night. After the second or third, then I’d complain

Itsyersel · 18/08/2019 00:34

@SteamedPotatoes Doubt it, considering you got arsey within 1 minute of posting as nobody had replied....

Stonerosie67 · 18/08/2019 00:36

Cool mum's...really? Or just people who aren't prepared to kick off because the neighbours have a one off party until, gasp, midnight?
How much did you moan at your dh till he went round for you?

SteamedPotatoes · 18/08/2019 00:37

@Itsyersel - that was desperation typing not arsey typing. Why do people feel the need to multiply dots ?

OP posts:
SteamedPotatoes · 18/08/2019 00:41

I also don't think his parents know he's partying at their house on the cheap.

OP posts:
Stonerosie67 · 18/08/2019 00:44

I don't 'multiply dots', I use what's called an ellipsis...

HiJenny35 · 18/08/2019 00:48

I think it's a pretty shitty thing to do to stop at party at Just after midnight. It's the summer. You've already said they don't do it often and you being sleep deprived isn't their issue. I'm sure they've had nights when your crying children have kept them up if the walls are as thin as you say. No reason to think the owner doesn't know, if I was the home owner and you'd stopped at party at my house I'd think you were very rude. Let's hope you never want to have a party.

MrsEricBana · 18/08/2019 00:50

Well that went well Wink

SteamedPotatoes · 18/08/2019 00:50

@Stonerosie67 Me thinks you were just being arsey with your multiple dots. www.writing-skills.com/five-annoying-ways-use-ellipsis

Husband just redeemed himself and went round and musics off now

I love it when my DH takes care of business! Wink

zoezipp · 18/08/2019 00:53

Jesus it’s Saturday! Stop being miserable. I guarantee your baby has kept them
Up at some point. It’s one night

SteamedPotatoes · 18/08/2019 00:54

@HiJenny35 I didn't say the walls were thin - I said the walls were thick - very thick and the houses are rather big, so if they were indoors I wouldn't hear them ! They are/were in the garden. At that age I went out clubbing and didn't inflict myself on my neighbours. They've been partying since noon.

OP posts:
SteamedPotatoes · 18/08/2019 00:57

@zoezipp actually it's Sunday !!

Bloody hell your neighbours have one party ever and you are kicking off because there is noise at 11.40pm.

Stonerosie67 · 18/08/2019 00:58

Haha, very good...Grin

Selfish fuckers
Cool mums
Wanky 20 year olds

Pretty sure it's not me who is the arsey one...

3dogs2cats · 18/08/2019 00:59

I’m with you. I’d be positioning myself in the back bedroom with a water pistol and picking them off one by one.

Skittlenommer · 18/08/2019 01:00

I’m with you OP, we have a house party a few times a year but music is always off or at least quite by 11pm. We’d never be out in the garden until late and if in the house we ensure windows are closed! Anyone who does otherwise is selfish! I hope they all feel like shit tomorrow and the ‘host’ spends the day dry heaving with the beer fear!

NK1cf53daaX127805d4fd5 · 18/08/2019 01:00

You're most definitely not 'cool with it'! Jesus - it's a once off, stop being a kill joy!

SteamedPotatoes · 18/08/2019 01:01

@3dogs2cats we just bought one of those kercher high pressure water jet thingies for the terrace Grin
