I've had him since he was born as his mom was my cat, he is very much an out door cat he is ten and still very young looking and energetic. The lady down the road feeds the stray cats in the street but she will not stop allowing my cat the eat aswell she only feeds him packet food. I don't unless tablets and medicines are needed or as treats. all my cats have lived with no health issues and all lived till atleast 18 years old. She knows where he lives and still insists on saying I can't feed one without the other. it's got that bad he now sleeps outside and dosent come home, I've collected him thousands of times and kept him in evan for 3 months but I'm running out of patience. No idea what I can do about it if anything. Anyone have any ideas

Feed your cats better food than her. At the same time each day. Before they can eat hers.
Keep them in overnight or in the day and only let them out once they have eaten your food. Wet food if need be. Make sure you stick to your routine so the cats know when you are feeding them.
When it was my cats dinner time I used to go in the garden and call them whilst tapping the can Grin.

My friend has three cats and recently found out someone in the next street had been feeding them as ‘strays’ - one of them has special dietary issues and was constantly throwing up because this woman was feeding him food he’s allergic to. When my friend asked the woman why she thought three plump, shiny-coated cats were strays she said ‘Well, they kept coming back’. Of course they fucking did, she was enticing them back with bowls of bloody Whiskas.

If your neighbour is concerned about strays, the solution is to contact Cats Protection, not put food out. Most feral cats aren’t even in need of feeding; they catch their own food pretty well.
