Ok so has anyone heard of Stephen Sharer? He's a new rap style artist and my 5 nearly 6 yo DS has discovered him on YouTube. Today i couldn't believe it. He was watching this on my phone and i was watching it with him and agreeing it was good. Well it was a positive uplifting song so nothing to worry about. Then i made the fatal error of getting him to watch Will Smith as the Fresh Prince with Summer Time, thinking he must like that then. I mean who doesn't like Summertime? ...But oh no, not DS! He started moaning instantly at me to switch it off. I said why and he said he doesn't like my rubbish OLD music!! Rubbish?! Old?! Wtf! I was in shock and suddenly looking at a 15 yo spoilt brat and not my cute lovely 5 yo! Where the hell did that response come from? Can he really be rebelling at 5-6yo?!
So i'm asking AIBU to expect him to behave more his age at his age? If he behaves like this now will he be getting the vile teenage years out of the way early on? Nah! I'm not kidding myself with that one!
